To our Senior Community…
It is the mission of the Bennington Senior Center to engage persons 50+ in the lifelong learning process; promoting their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing by providing social, recreational, creative and cultural programs enabling active participation in the center and community. Program costs are founded on a not-for-profit basis.
From the Director’s Desk: I can’t believe July is already here! This is when we usually start to see some oppressive heatwaves. Remember: by the time you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Keep a bottle of water with you, and sip from it often. Most fruits and veggies are high in water content and will help with hydration (lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, grapes, apples, and stone fruits are great choices). If you need a place to cool off, come on down to the Senior Center and visit. You might even make a new friend or pick up a new hobby. Theatre and travel opportunities are back! If there is a specific place you would like to visit, or if there is a class or activity you would
like to see at the Senior Center, please email me or put your idea in the suggestion box located at the reception window. Get outside when the heat allows, enjoy some fresh air, take a walk, drink an extra glass of water, keep washing those hands, and above all – stay healthy! 6 years old and under MUST have an adult in the water with them at all times. Supervising adult must have a membership or pay the daily pass fee. Lap Swim: Our Y has dedicated lap-swimming times throughout the day. Lap swim time is designated for swimmers 13 and up. If you are unsure of etiquette or have questions feel free to ask the guard on duty.
