Scores of people insist that exercising with a partner is a great way to remain committed to a fitness regimen, and now research is beginning to support that assertion. A 2023 study from researchers in Japan found that exercising both alone and with a partner two or more times a week helped to lower risk of cognitive impairment, but the risk was decreased by a more significant margin among those who exercised with others. Authors of the study found that the risk of cognitive impairment decreased by more than 29 percent among individuals who worked out with a partner, which was nearly double the percentage reduction (15 percent) among those who exercised alone. This handsome 2-year-old pit bull terrier mix is Lucky! And he’d be the luckiest boy in the world if you were to adopt him. Lucky has been patiently waiting for his pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow since November 26th. This brindle boy loves people and participating in any and all things actively. He would make a wonderful hiking, running or walking buddy. He’s definitely an adventure seeker who just wants to be with you as much as he can. Lucky loves nothing more than playing tug with rope toys. He thinks of it as a super fun way that his people can get their upper body/core workouts for the day! He also likes to play with other dogs, but can be a bit “much” for some, so he’ll need a dog friend who can keep up with him. Lucky is working on his house training, but is finding it a bit difficult in the shelter environment. So, he’ll need a patient owner who is willing to work with him on training, since he’s smart and loves to learn. Lucky would also be a great candidate for obedience classes to build on what he already knows. Having lived with a small child that he was good with but a bit too exuberant for, staff feel it best he goes to a home with children aged 5 years and older.
