Thegroup,alongwithNorman RockwellMuseum’sDepartmentof ImaginedandRealIllustratedPhenomena(NRMDIRIP),hasmeticulouslydocumentedeverysightingof thecreaturesinceitsfirstencounter withhumansin1936,andaseries ofrecent,inexplicablediscoveriesaroundBerkshireCountyhave broughtthemcloserthaneverbefore tounravelingthemysteryoftheSea Monster.

Now,fromtheirheadquartersat theRedLionInninStockbridge,the investigatorsarecallingonlocalsfor theirhelpinlocatingMorton,incase heslipsintohidingonceagain.

LittleisknownofMorton’s birth,butheisbelievedtohavefirst emergedinBerkshireCountyat somepointintheearly1930s.He spenthisearlylifetravelingbetween theBerkshiresandNewYorkCity, unseenbyhumaneyes.ThefirstdocumentedMortonsightingoccurred onThanksgivingDayin1936,when thecreatureemergedfromHudson RiverinRiversideParkthenmeanderedalongAmsterdamAvenue, CentralParkWest,andBroadway beforeslippingbackintotheriveron itswaytopartsunknown.

Measuringdozensoffeetin length,withaforkedtongueand greenscales,Mortonwasinitially misidentifiedassomesortofdraconicbeast,earninghimthemonikerofMortontheDragon.Based ontheearlydocumentedsightings, biologistsissuedanamecorrection toMortontheSeaMonster,whenhe cameashoreonFrancisStreetBeach, Nantucketinthesummerof1937.
