porn free /// a-z porn free /// a-z porn free /// a-z porn free /// a-z porn free Hardcore Battle Plan —1 Million Women Praying /// ua-z porn free /// a-z porn free /// Prayer is essential in the war against pornography. This resource is designed as a guide for women to join in the battle by committing to concerted prayer for the men in their lives, as well as for themselves. Please see the campaign resources at Join1MillionMen.org, including a book for men, book for wives and families, commitment for men, app, church DVD with guide, and more. Women know men are tempted to view pornography. Yet Christian women know that our prayers are powerful and effective. Prayer helps our men and boys resist the urges that come through viewing media in our sexualized culture, including the Internet. Prayer releases the power of God into the life of His people. We can become overcomers through prayer. Whether tempted to look at pornography once, frequently struggling, or addicted to pornography — men can experience freedom. You can pray that men will break free. The process is painful, but the rewards of freedom, peace, and joy are far greater than the momentary rush of pornography. Guilt-free is the greatest feeling you and I can experience! Committing to concerted prayer in the struggle against pornography will not be easy. Praying against

an evil of this magnitude will incite the enemy to attack. Praise God, He is sufficient and will strengthen you to stand with Him for purity in His people. Our goal is for more than 1 million women committing to pray. When you make this commitment, sign the prayer wall at Join1MillionMen.org. And give copies of this booklet to your friends, encouraging them to make this commitment as well. Our Plan — Committed to Pray Today on (date) I (name) commit to pray daily in the war against pornography. People in my life, whom I will specifically ask God to protect through my prayers:

Signed: Find out more about how we are winning in the war against pornography at Join1MillionMen.org. You’ll find multiple additional resources proven effective in practice by others just like you.

DMIT — Pray that Christian believers will admit their struggle with pornography. Scripture Truth “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion” (Proverbs 28:13). Admit, “Yes, porn is a struggle.” Pray that rather than justifying or excusing pornography, believers will admit their struggle to God, to themselves, and to caring people. Pray for freedom to be transparent in their acknowledgment of the issue. Pray for the power to resist Satan’s lies. Pray for God’s truth to reveal anything that is sinful and hidden. Pray that the chains of pornography’s hold will fall away and lose their power. The first of the 12 steps of Sexaholics Anonymous gives a good reminder for you as you begin to pray:

“We admitted that we were powerless over lust — that our lives had become unmanageable.” “You can never conquer sin with an excuse.” — AUTHOR UNKNOWN Dear God, I admit to You that porn is a struggle. I ask for strength as I share in warring in this struggle with others. Thank You for Your grace. Amen.

REAKING FREE — Pray for believers to break free and win the battle. Scripture Truth “For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4–5).

B-C

Pray for strength and power in the face of spiritual warfare. Pray that the sinful nature will be conformed to Christ’s mind. Pray for believers to know the grace that means they can survive without looking at pornography. Pray that Satan’s temptations will be evident for what they are. Pray for believers to experience God’s overcoming and healing power, knowing there is always a choice and God always provides a way out. Praise God that He is our Stronghold! Dear God, I commit to pray for believers to break free from pornography. This struggle is bigger than me, but it is not bigger than You and Your strength in me.

OME CLEAN — Pray for believers to come clean with God, confessing that pornography is sin and that viewing pornography is sinful.

Scripture Truth “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you’re willing to pay,” says Steve Farrar. Applied to pornography — radical repentance is essential. Pray for repentance that breaks the cycle of sin. Pray for repentance that involves brokenness. Pray for a moment when God, the Holy Spirit, convicts believers to change the direction they are going. Pray for sin to be recognized as destructive in life and contrary to God’s will. Pray for an overwhelming sense of sorrow. Pray for God’s power, the power to no longer do what God reveals as sin.

“I do not know when I am more perfectly happy than when I am weeping for sin at the foot of the cross. When we deal seriously with our sins, God — C. H. SPURGEON will deal gently with us.” Dear God, I pray for believers to turn away from the sin of viewing pornography. I turn to You as the God of all power.

ESTROY — Pray for believers to destroy all pornography stashes right now.

C-D

Scripture Truth “Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls” (John 1:21).

D-E

Pray for men and women to destroy all pornography on their home and office computers; to destroy pornographic books and magazines; to destroy DVDs and other recordings; to remove pornography from phones, tablets, and readers. Pray that this destruction will be final and lasting, even if they need to destroy a device. Pray they will understand the spiritual cost is greater than the cost of destroying devices. Pray they will understand what will be the adverse impact on their children when they find pornography left undestroyed. Many men who battle with pornography began their struggle by finding their dad’s pornography. Pray for men to be responsible for their wives, sons, and daughters, who might stumble spiritually because of their husband’s or father’s sin. Dear God, I pray for those who struggle with pornography to destroy all pornography they may have in their lives. Amen.

LIMINATE — Pray that believers will eliminate anything in their homes, offices, or other places that can be used as an outlet for pornography.

Scripture Truth “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts” (Romans 13:14). Pray for awareness and commitment to eliminate any places in your life where pornography has an outlet and eliminate that outlet. Pray using the following suggestions as a guide for prayer: • Eliminate premium cable from your television. • When going to a hotel, ask the front desk to disable the adult movie channels. • Stop renting movies with sexual content or going to movies that show nudity. • Disable your Webcam. • Cancel your memberships to pornographic sites. • Refuse to open unsolicited emails. • Stop patronizing any businesses that encourage sinful, sexual thoughts. • Immediately throw away advertisements such as catalogs with scantily dressed women. • Refuse to read books or magazines that could encourage lustful thoughts. • Cease channel surfing that reveals sexually explicit material. Put the remote control in an out-of-the way place after a certain time at night. • Tell your husband (if married) that seeing scantily dressed women is a problem. • Have a family meeting and share that your home is and always will be pornography free. Address the danger of pornography with your family. That gives you an additional layer of accountability. • Insist on Internet accountability software on his work computer.

E

Dear God, help me to be aware of any gateways of pornography and to eliminate them as much as possible. Amen.

REEDOM — Pray for believers to embrace God’s truth. Pray they will embrace it now! Scripture Truth “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

F-G

Jesus said only the truth will make you free. Pray believing that acting on God’s truth and continuing to act on that truth will bring freedom. The truth is, viewing pornography is sin. The truth is, when we act on God’s Word, He will give us the power to break free from the chains of pornography. In Hope After Betrayal, Meg Wilson says, “Truth is the medicine that treats lies.” Dear God, I believe Your promise that acting on Your truth will bring freedom to our lives. I choose to act on what You say. Amen.

UARD — your heart — Pray that God will protect the thoughts and feelings of His people regarding pornography.

Scripture Truth “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23 NIV). “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl” (Job 31:1 NIV). “Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity” (1 Timothy 5:1–2). Pray for men to recognize the impact of pornography on women. Viewing porn promotes “pornifying” women; that is, seeing women as sexual objects. Satan will attempt to rewind and play, using past pornographic images to encourage men to see women as objects for sex. Pornography changes a man’s perspective of women from lovingly created companions to objects of lust. Pray that men will guard their hearts and eyes by confessing a sinful thought immediately and placing it under Christ’s authority. Pray for men to guard their hearts by training their eyes to immediately look away from people and images that would create lust. Unguarded eyes, unguarded thoughts, and unguarded feelings eventually lead to sinful actions. Dear God, like Job, help believers make a covenant with their eyes to turn them away from anything that creates a lustful look.
