Continue to Advocate for Pro-Consumer Markets

F

or more than a century, New Jersey Realtors® has been the voice for real estate in New Jersey, advocating for private property rights and assisting Realtors® in achieving success in their businesses. I am humbled to be President of such an incredible organization.

I have been working in the real estate industry for over 30 years, licensed for 18 of them, and I’ve learned through the ups and downs of the market that we must support one another. As a managing broker, serving and supporting my agents gave me such happiness, and the ability to assist agents in helping New Jerseyans achieve homeownership moved me. Not only did I want to give back, but I needed to give back.

“ I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou Although I spent my career serving in New Jersey, I grew up in New York—living with my extended family. We were so close that I never saw them as extended family, but rather immediate family. Their support played a crucial role in my upbringing and had a profound impact on my life.

Family support shapes our lives. It provides love, a sense of belonging, and a nurturing environment that contributes to our personal growth and well-being.

This year, I want our Realtor® family to come together, to lean on one another, and be thought leaders. We will face outside challenges in the coming years, but we will get through it together, one day at a time.

With New Jersey Realtors® in our corner, we will stay up to date with industry issues, stay in compliance with real estate regulations, stay sharp in the field with top continuing education classes, abide by the Code of Ethics, and remain ethical in our business practice. With the most comprehensive housing market data in the state, we know the market better than anyone else. New Jersey Realtors® truly is our key to success.

I encourage you all to hone in on the Realtor® difference.

Focus on being an educational resource for clients and highlight to the public that only Realtors® possess the know-how and expertise to navigate any market. Consumer Advertising Campaign Each year, we allocate funds to educate consumers and promote the value of using a Realtor® to buy, sell, or rent a home in the Garden State. This year is no different as we continue to highlight the Realtor® difference and inform consumers about everything a Realtor® does to help their clients over the course of the transaction.

In the antitrust lawsuit of Burnett v. the National Association of Realtors® et al., the jury found NAR and other defendants liable. The fight is far from over, and a definitive ruling is not imminent. While NAR works to file motions and other procedural actions in Missouri, ultimately planning to file an appeal, here’s what we’re doing to continue to support Realtor® businesses and protect consumers.

You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, any request for the refund of a contribution must be made within two (2) business days of the date on which you authorize RPAC to charge you for said contribution. Your contribution is split between National RPAC and the State PAC in your state. Contact your State Association or PAC for information about the percentages of your contribution provided to National RPAC and to the State PAC. resident of Mercer County, Gloria is a Broker Associate with Compass in Princeton, and holds a broker’s license in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Mercer County Bar Association— Real Estate Section, Asian Real Estate Association of America, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals®, served as a Nominating Committee Member for Bright MLS, and was Membership Director for Women’s Council of Realtors® Mercer County Chapter.

She is a Director for the National Association of Realtors® and former committee and workgroup member of NAR, and was an Inaugural Mentor for the NAR Spire Program. She is also a Realtors® Political Action Committee Golden “R” President’s Circle Member.

On the state level, Gloria serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

She has served as Triple Play Convention Committee Chair, Risk Management Committee Vice-Chair, the Legal Affairs Division Officer, Professional Standards and Risk Management Committees. Gloria also served as an Issues Mobilization Fund Trustee and RPAC of New Jersey Trustee.

Locally, Gloria is a CORE Association of Realtors® Past President, Mercer County Association of Realtors® Past President, Board of Directors Member, and has served and chaired numerous committees at the local level since 2008. Lafayette

olding the honor of being the first town in the U.S. to be named after Marquis de LaFayette, the famous Frenchman who helped win the American Revolution, Lafayette, incorporated in 1845, has maintained its rural charm even as new business and industrial evolution make its mark on the town.

“We are very careful to maintain the appeal of the old while still allowing the ‘new’ in,” said Kevin O’Leary, a longtime resident, member of the Lafayette Township Committee, Land Use Board, and Open Space Advisory Committee, and last year’s mayor. “If you drive through Lafayette, you’ll still see many active farms and a lot of open space, but we’re evolving.”

O’Leary said the town is situated in the center of Sussex County with rolling hills and ridgelines. Historic farmhouses are scattered throughout with a larger assortment of newer colonial and custombuilt homes. Ordinances, including the Ridgeline Viewshed Protection overlay zone, help maintain the town’s rural charm.

It’s the quaintness, and even farm life, drawing people to Lafayette and with

approximately 2,500 residents, it’s undoubtedly a small-town community.

“We’re seeing more young families that are interested in farming and see the value of growing their own food or raising animals, even if they’re not doing it commercially,” said O’Leary.

“People are drawn to the area for that small-town feel.”

Roadside farm stands are sprinkled throughout Lafayette, offering residents and visitors fresh fruits and vegetables, local honey, as well as fresh meat and dairy products.

Lafayette has an abundance of forested and environmentally sensitive land that supports a wide variety of wildlife, such as threatened and endangered species. In fact, Lafayette is home to a 262-acre preserved great blue heron rookery, one of the most important sanctuaries on the East Coast for the nesting species.

With so much open space, there is no limit to outdoor activities. The Paulins Kill tributary runs through Lafayette and is known for its trout, providing opportunities for fishing. Lafayette

also features various trailhead locations throughout the town with parking areas. The trailhead located on Warbasse Junction Road offers parking for equestrian trailers and direct access to a vast trail system developed by the state on old railroad right of ways. Lafayette provides a great environment for activities like hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding right in the township’s backyard.

Beyond its natural beauty, Lafayette offers plentiful shopping and dining experiences. Despite the rise of online shopping, the The Shoppes at Lafayette provide an outdoor shopping experience, featuring specialty shops, women’s boutiques, a candy shop, and a do it yourself candle shop.

Renowned for its antiquing, Lafayette is home to The Lafayette Mill Antiques Center, a downtown attraction drawing antique collectors from as far as Philadelphia and New York. The Mill and surrounding properties earned the designation of a National Historic District in 2013, with the Ludlum-Mabee House

meticulously restored by the Lafayette Center Preservation Foundation.

“Our antique center attracts the most out-of-towners,” said Lafayette Township Land Use Administrator Stephanie Pizzulo. “Lafayette has become known as an antique destination for many collectors.”

The antique center hosts a monthly outdoor vintage flea market from April through November, attracting visitors from all over seeking unique finds.

Lafayette’s proximity to New York City brings visitors from the city drawn by the town’s seasonal activities like farmer’s markets, pumpkin and apple picking, and selecting the perfect Christmas tree to cut on one of Lafayette’s tree farms.

In its early days, Lafayette was known for its taverns. Today, popular venues like Lafayette House and the Millside Café are popular destinations offering a charming, rustic atmosphere for locals and visitors.

As far as houses coming on the market, according to New Jersey Realtors® October housing market data report, Lafayette had 23 single family closed

sales year-to-date, a 15% increase over last year. O’Leary acknowledges the limited inventory market across the state, this scarcity underscores the trend of residents putting down roots and staying, as O’Leary said houses are “snatched up quickly,” with single family homes staying on the market for 62 days yearto-date. Demand remains strong in the area with the single family median sales price increasing 2.9% year-to-date to $493,333 and homes receiving 102.1% of the list price.

A recently approved 132-unit apartment complex, according to Pizzulo, will provide a new housing option and attract new people to the area, while the town’s highly regarded schools draw more families to Lafayette.

“The school is very good with particularly small class sizes that you don’t often see these days,” said Pizzulo. “It’s a lot of personalized attention, since teachers can really get to know the students.”

O’Leary agrees it’s a “close-knit school,” and like other small towns, there’s a neighborly atmosphere where everyone knows one another and is willing to lend a hand.

While Lafayette has done a tremendous job of maintaining rural living, the town aims to keep up with the times. Lafayette has approved two cannabis cultivation operations, which will create jobs and tax revenue.

According to Pizzulo, other industries are coming into town, contributing to more growth.

“We recently approved an application for a pharmaceutical packaging company and a 60,000 square foot warehouse for a light industrial use, which will create jobs for the area,” said Pizzulo. “We are growing.”

In a nod to keeping up with recent recreational trends, the town also recently installed its first pickleball court.

“We are evolving, but we are very committed to open space preservation to protect our abundance of environmentally sensitive land and are very mindful of that,” said O’Leary. “We are careful to remain relevant while also maintaining the quaintness that we know many people came here for in the first place.”

he 2023 Triple Play Realtor® Convention & Trade Expo, the largest real estate convention and trade show in the U.S., convened thousands of industry professionals at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Dec. 4-7, 2023. Hosted by New Jersey Realtors®, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®, and New York State Association of Realtors®, this event attracted Realtors®, brokers, appraisers, and various real estate industry experts.

Featuring over 100 educational sessions, attendees delved into diverse courses covering industry trends, the utilization of the latest artificial intelligence technology for enhanced client experiences, and strategies for navigating a dynamic real estate market. Highlighted sessions included a New Jersey Legal Update with New Jersey Realtors® Chief Counsel Barry Goodman, Esq. After a full day of sessions, attendees wrapped up the first day of Triple Play with the Realtors® Triple Play Kick-Off Party at Caesars Atlantic City— Wild Wild West, with a night of networking and enjoyment among fellow Realtors®.

On Tuesday, the Realtors® Triple Play Expo opened its doors, featuring 271 exhibiting companies showcasing cutting-edge industry products and services. New Jersey Realtors® was front and center, and welcomed attendees with brand swag, and spread the word about new programs for first-time buyers through the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, and New Jersey Realtors® value of membership campaign—Your Key to Success.

uying a home can be daunting especially for those who have never done it before. By breaking the process down into smaller steps like reading a recipe to bake a complicated cake, they can reach the end without added stress and be happy homeowners.

This transaction guide can be given to your clients to help them understand all the aspects and all the moving parts of buying a house while explaining the highlights of why a Realtor® can improve the home buying journey.

Find a Realtor

Get Preapproved

Once you find a lender you can work with and their rates seem good, then ask for a preapproval for a mortgage loan. The lender looks at your financial situation including income, employment situation, debt, and tax information for the last two years.

Yarnall reccomends asking the lender to prepare the preapproval for what you can afford rather than the home price range you’re looking.

4 Understand a Realtor®’s Strengths

A Realtor® can do market analysis, negotiate better deals, understand legal and regulatory changes, handle paperwork, identify potential issues with a property, customize search for specific needs, and advise on long-term value, said Designated Realtor® and regional manager of Howard Home | Rand Realty in Old Tappan Lisa Comito, Esq. In this tough time of low inventory, sometimes Realtors® can discover internal resources with homes that haven’t hit the market yet. DeLeo emphasizes some clients feel like they don’t want to bother their Realtors® if they see a house they are interested in visiting for an open house.

“We don’t get paid until we close. We want to know if something interests them,” said Comito.

2 Find a Lender that Fits Your Needs

Ask all the right questions to potential lenders such as “Do you have any promotions going on right now without any catches?” said Realtor® and broker at RE/MAX Select in Westfield Neda Yarnall. “Don’t buy points. I give a set of questions to my buyers to ask lenders.” Lenders should also give you a timeline of how long a preapproval will take and the closing on a loan if all goes well too.

“This digital approach allows them to conveniently start their search from the comfort of their home,” said Comito. Although some sales are quick, some of DeLeo’s clients are on their second and third year trying to find the perfect house. “They don’t want to settle,” said DeLeo.

Put in an Offer

Obtain your Keys at the Closing

Once you find the property you want to purchase, your Realtor will help put in an offer of what you want to pay. You will also submit the amount of earnest money to incentivize the seller to accept your offer.

“The higher the better if it is a very desirable home,” said Yarnall. Five or 10% of the purchase price is common especially if you are putting down 20% on a home purchase. That money goes into a trust account in your name, said Yarnall. In the offer, you can include contingencies such as needing to sell your house before you can complete the purchase. During the pandemic, some people were buying by waiving an inspection and offering way over asking price to beat out others when there were multiple offers. DeLeo is seeing her clients putting in about three offers on different houses before one is accepted. ®

Inspect the Inspection

A licensed inspector conducts a detailed evaluation of a property’s overall condition, said Comito.

“Your Realtor® can tell you past client results of dealing with a particular inspector but, of course, cannot vogue for the inspector,” said Comito.

In addition to a general home inspection, other inspections you might consider are chimney, pipes, septic, lead paint, and the list goes on, said Comito.

Yarnall emphasizes it’s very important to get a thorough inspection. A buyer should be at the home inspection. “The inspector will show you how everything runs in the house,” said Yarnall. Follow them throughout the house. They will talk about how to change the furnace filter, where the water shut off is, and so much more.

Prepare for Closing

Move In

Bring your I.D.s and a personal check to the closing in case there are some kinds of discrepancies. “Closings using are normally very peaceful,” said Yarnall.

Sometimes, your Realtor® will show up, but the sellers or lawyers may not attend.

So much is done online and through wiring funds. The title companies take care of a lot of the business.

It’s now your home. Enoy and keep up the maintenance so the value continues to appreciate.

A few days before the closing, you can do a final walk-through of the home to make sure everything is in “broom clean condition” and all the repairs requested from the inspection are complete, said Yarnall. Receipts from all the work done should be available during the closing or before. “As the closing date nears, your Realtor® will check with the seller’s Realtor® to ensure that a proper Continued Certificate of Occupancy has been obtained (where applicable),” said Comito.

D

enise Horneck, a Monmouth Ocean Regional Realtors® member, has earned the 2023 New Jersey Realtors® Good Neighbor Award for her remarkable 13-year commitment to the Colts Neck First Aid Squad and the broader community. In addition to her role as an Emergency Medical Technician, Denise serves as the Cadet Advisor, providing essential guidance and training to cadets aged 15 to 18, preparing them for first aid calls. Under her mentorship, the squad recently excelled in a cadet competition, showcasing the impact of her leadership.

Denise responds to an average of 300-400 calls annually, day or night, displaying unwavering commitment, even during the COVID-19 pandemic when protective equipment was scarce.

Her contributions extend beyond emergency response.

Award: $1,500 Toms River Field of Dreams ustin Bosak, a dedicated member of Monmouth Ocean Regional Realtors®, is a recipient of the 2023 New Jersey Realtors® Good Neighbor Award for his outstanding commitment to the Field of Dreams project.

This innovative facility provides a safe and inclusive space for individuals with special needs.

Justin’s son, Julio, diagnosed with autism, faced challenges navigating standard playgrounds, and inspired the cause. Justin worked tirelessly planning fundraisers and working with business partners to secure funding to make the inclusive playground a reality.

The Field of Dreams expanded to include a playground, basketball court, bocce ball, mini-golf course, and other amenities. The project has had a profound impact on the special needs community, with over 1,500 families registered to date. The facility hosts various special needs sports events and serves as a model for similar spaces nationwide.

Award: $1,000 Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS) arolyn Bardach, a member of the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors®, is a recipient of the 2023 New Jersey Realtors® Good Neighbor Award, acknowledging her unwavering dedication to domestic violence prevention.

Carolyn’s journey as a domestic violence advocate began years ago, driven by personal experiences. Her involvement is ongoing, as domestic violence is a daily concern that requires immediate action. Carolyn actively participates in various events throughout the year to raise awareness and vital funds for domestic violence victims.

The impact of Carolyn’s work on the individuals she serves is immeasurable. During crisis response calls, she offers personal counseling, guiding victims toward safety and a better life, empowering them with safety plans for their journey forward.

Carolyn’s work has created a safer, more supportive environment for all those impacted by domestic violence, including residents of Morris County and neighboring areas.

2023 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARD RECIPIENT

C

ongratulations to Karen DeMarco on her remarkable achievement of winning the National Association of Realtors® 2023 Good Neighbor Award. Karen’s organization, The Food Brigade, received a donation of $10,000 to continue their mission of hunger relief in New Jersey plus Karen received additional funds for winning one of the three web choice favorites.

We sat down with Karen to discuss who inspired her volunteerism, balancing volunteer work with her career, and more.

What inspired you to start the Food Brigade?

The origins of The Food Brigade date back to 2017, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy.

During my recuperation, we had friends and neighbors bringing meals to our house, so that we didn’t have to worry about dinner for our family. So it was one less thing we needed to think about, and the meals were a tremendous help during a difficult period. I wanted to “pay it forward,” so within a couple of months I started the Dumont Meal Brigade— an informal grouping of volunteers who would prepare and deliver meals to local residents who were dealing with a death in the family, loss of employment, serious illness or injury, etc.

When the COVID-19 lockdown hit, I went into high gear cooking meals in my kitchen for senior citizens who could no longer go to the supermarket because the jitney bus was shut down, and for other people affected

by COVID-19. Before I knew it, my husband and I were distributing boxes of food from in front of our house and had set up a free produce stand in our driveway.

From there, we relocated to the parking lot of a local church and did “drive through” food distributions, with volunteers loading people’s cars with boxes of food. We also set up a network of around 30 other organizations— food pantries, women’s shelters, churches—and at the peak of the pandemic, we were distributing 30-40 tons of food every week through that network, from two locations. I didn’t set out to establish a hungerrelief nonprofit. I just kind of found myself here as a progressive outgrowth of the informal charitable work my husband and I were doing.

How do you balance your volunteer work with your real estate career?

I am so fortunate to have such an amazing team at The Food Brigade. Thanks to our Pantry Managers and our other volunteers, our food distributions operations run like clockwork every week, whether I’m there onsite or not. In addition, we have a full-time Executive Director who runs the organization, so that allows me to focus strictly on our food distribution operations and on serving our clients, and not have to worry about things like volunteer recruitment and management, bookkeeping and legal compliance, communications and social media, fundraising, etc. That frees me up to be able to handle my real estate work around the schedule of The Food Brigade’s weekly distributions. I also have a wonderful team of Realtors® in my office that are there for whatever I need. The support that I have from my Broker and my Regional Vice President of Coldwell Banker has been amazing as well as making it easy for me to still be a successful real estate agent.

What have you learned since starting the Food Brigade?

First, from doing this work, I’ve learned just how much need there is in New Jersey, and it’s in virtually every community. Second, from our volunteers, I’ve learned how incredibly giving and caring people are in New Jersey—to watch these volunteers in action, week in and week out, will restore your faith in your fellow humans no matter how jaded you are.

Lastly, I’ve grown to truly appreciate the importance and power of a team. There’s no way that I alone could ever have made the impact that The Food Brigade has. Each week, we have an average of 80100 volunteers helping to feed around 2,000 of their neighbors in need. So, I’ve learned that the work of The Food Brigade, and the organization’s expansion, could not possibly be done without our amazing volunteers.

How can other Realtors® get involved with The Food Brigade or support the cause?

We have expenses that go beyond food acquisition: things like rent, utilities, insurance, and carting fees, to gasoline for our delivery vehicles, to plastic gloves for food handling. So aside from our volunteers, the lifeblood of an organization like ours is financial support. We have a donations page on our website at foodbrigade.org/ donate, and we accept credit cards, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and checks. We also accept donations of stock. And for those who’d like to join us on the “front lines” in the fight against food insecurity in New Jersey, they can “enlist” in the Brigade at foodbrigade.org/volunteer.

What’s your proudest moment since starting the Food Brigade?

I think what makes me most proud is actually how proud our three children are of me, and knowing that my husband and I succeeded in raising what we call “good humans.” But in terms of a specific event, I would say receiving the national Good Neighbor Award at the NAR’s annual conference in Anaheim in November. The whole process running up to the award ceremony really enabled me to kind of step outside of myself, to objectively look at the workings and effect of The Food Brigade. It made me better able to appreciate the organization’s growth and the importance of its work. It’s like with your children: you’re around them all the time, and you don’t notice on a dayto-day basis how they’re growing over time. With The Food Brigade soon opening its fourth food distribution center in New Jersey, I think I’m better able now to understand and appreciate the impact of our organization and the number of people in need that we’re helping.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in public service?

Having grown up in New Jersey, I was fortunate to be immersed in the diversity of our great state, which shaped who I am today. I understood early on that New Jersey’s diversity in population and experiences is what makes it a unique place to live. Through my love of history and my parents instilling in me to follow my passions, I was drawn to public service at a young age. I have had the privilege of serving in numerous

roles during my tenure in state government, and was incredibly honored to be nominated by Governor Murphy to serve as the Commissioner of the Department of Banking and insurance, after holding the Department’s Chief of Staff position since 2018.

Prior to joining the Murphy Administration, I served as Chief of Policy and Legislation to the New Jersey State Senate President Pro Tempore, where I focused on expanding access to quality affordable healthcare for New Jerseyans, and the expansion of voting rights and civil rights. I began my time in state service working as a Briefing Aide to Governor Jon Corzine and Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs for the New Jersey Department of State.

Throughout my career, I have benefited from working alongside state leaders and dedicated public servants who are also committed to bringing meaningful change to our state that improves the lives of New Jerseyans.

What does the job of the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance entail in the state of NJ?

As the Acting Commissioner of Banking and Insurance, I serve as the chief regulator of New Jersey’s insurance industry, all state-chartered banks and credit unions, consumer finance licensees and the real estate industry. The department works to regulate these industries in a professional and timely manner that protects and educates consumers and promotes the growth, financial stability and efficiency of those industries.

Additionally, I lead Get Covered New Jersey, the state’s official health insurance marketplace, which connects residents who do not have health coverage from their employers or access to other health care programs to quality, affordable health insurance.

What have you been working on that would help the real estate market in NJ? The department works every day to strengthen the real estate industry

Additionally, we are focused on being responsive to the needs of Realtors® and have taken steps to modernize our processes to better serve the industry. We’ve worked to improve the licensing process and allowed for remote exams to provide greater flexibility for existing licensees and for individuals who want to pursue a career in real estate who want to take the licensure exams.

What other issues have you been tackling in your role as Acting Commissioner?

The department is committed to Governor Murphy’s goal of a stronger and fairer New Jersey. Since the beginning of the administration the Department has developed and implemented numerous consumer protections and

he fifth annual Realtor®-Palooza, hosted by New Jersey Realtors®, took place on Sept. 22, 2023.

NJ Realtors® members convened for a day enriched with education, engaging activities, and networking opportunities. To kick-start the day, attendees recharged with specialty coffee and fresh donuts, as they prepared for the exciting events ahead.

Morning continuing education sessions featured Putting Realtor® Safety First with NJ Realtors® Past President Chris Schlueter, emphasizing safety awareness and habits for professionals on the job. NJ Legal Update with NJ Realtors® Chief Counsel Barry Goodman, Esq. delved into crucial real estate regulations and emerging issues, while Current Issues Affecting NJ Realtors® with the NJ Realtors® 2023 Leadership Team explored top trending industry topics.

Exclusive chats with NJ Realtors CEO Jarrod Grasso and Immediate Past President Nick Manis provided members with valuable insights on the latest industry developments.

headshot sessions were a hit, while the scavenger hunt engaged participants and they were rewarded with prizes.

As the day progressed into the afternoon, the parking lot and outdoor courtyard transformed into a bustling hub of music, games, and activities. Members enjoyed lunch from local food trucks, followed by a happy hour where they had a chance to unwind, network, and share experiences.

The cornhole tournament brought out the competitive spirit, with participants playing for the championship title. The fun continued during the bingo and Garden State trivia sessions, testing participants’ knowledge and luck. The caricature artist added a personalized touch to the day, creating custom portraits for attendees to take home.

Realtor®-Palooza was a remarkable success, providing Realtors® with a distinctive mix of learning, networking, and enjoyment. We were delighted to see many new faces and hope you’ll join us again next year.

Celebrating Hispanic Homeownership

Greater Bergen Realtors® Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, in conjunction with the Global Business Council committee, co-hosted their annual Hispanic Heritage Month salute, Fiesta Latina: Celebrating Homeownership during Hispanic Heritage Month in October at La Havana 59 in Moonachie. In extension of Hispanic Heritage Month, GBR hosted a complimentary special continuing education class in October for over 80 members. The bilingual, hybrid class, Helping Hispanic Immigrants with The Purchasing Process, provided members with insight into working with Hispanic immigrant clients throughout a real estate transaction, and highlighted the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the real estate industry.

Promoting Affordable Housing and Neighborhood Development

In partnership with New Jersey Realtors® Housing Opportunity Foundation, NEXUS Association of Realtors® donated money to St. Joseph’s Carpenter Society, an organization with the mission to promote affordable housing and neighborhood development for the city of Camden. NEXUS also worked with the organization in September to help a family of new homeowners beautify their landscaping.

Metro Centre Association of Realtors® 2023 Community Service Committee recently held a food drive that will be distributed through the REPLENISH Food Bank, filling 19 bins that will impact families in need across Middlesex County.

The Monmouth Ocean Regional Realtors® Associates Committee raised over $21,000 at their annual Fall Fundraiser Dinner for The Dream Factory of the Jersey Shore. The Dream Factory is the largest children’s wish-granting organization that strives to provide hope and relief from the trauma and corresponding stress that both the children and their families can endure on a day-to-day basis.
