New Jersey Realtors ® Strategic Plan

VISION

To promote New Jersey as a place of better living through leadership, advocacy and community.

MISSION

In collaboration with the local associations of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, New Jersey REALTORS® exists to support all segments of its membership by developing and delivering programs, services and related products which enhance the ability for members to ethically conduct business, and to defend, promote and preserve the right for all to own, transfer, and use real property.

STRATEGIC AREA 1 : GOVERNANCE

Strategic Objective 1A: New Jersey REALTORS® takes pride in building upon its solid foundation and utilizes a proactive approach to improve and adjust to industry changes and technological innovations.

• Work to ensure the State of NJ is a hospitable environment to adapt to industry changes through regulation and legislation.

• Review current programs and services offered to ensure continued relevance.

Strategic Objective 1B: New Jersey REALTORS® business practices strive to exceed the expectations of its constituency.

• Regularly identify, review and assess industry trends and data to address common themes, areas of improvement, emerging needs, and continuously improve services based on real-time feedback.

STRATEGIC AREA 2 : ADVOCACY

Strategic Objective 2A: New Jersey REALTORS® aggressively advocates for property rights and all things real estate through lobbying and community involvement.

• Prioritize issues of importance and navigate challenges as new topics arise.

• Keep elected officials at all levels of government apprised of our priorities.

Strategic Objective 2B: Members comprehend and acknowledge the importance of investing in RPAC at all financial investment levels.

• Increase awareness of issues to demonstrate the value of RPAC by targeting broker involvement, increasing participation rate, and encouraging 100% investment from state and local leadership and committee members.

Strategic Objective 2C: New Jersey REALTORS® is involved in global development initiatives that expand international investment in New Jersey real estate.

• Create global alliances through outreach and relationships that will attract global investment in New Jersey real estate.

STRATEGIC AREA 1 : COMMUNITY RELATIONS & SERVICE

Strategic Objective 1A: New Jersey REALTORS® community outreach initiatives enhance the public’s understanding and appreciation of the professional expertise REALTORS® provide and are considered trusted business partners.

• Proactively enhance professional development programs to address the changing landscape of real estate.

• NJ REALTORS® continues to lead as advocates for fair housing, ethical business, and inclusive communities.

Strategic Objective 1B: New Jersey REALTORS® strategies demonstrate the REALTORS® member value in navigating the real estate process through a series of public awareness campaigns.

• Promote the value of using a New Jersey Realtor® to potential buyers, sellers, and renters through comprehensive statewide paid advertising campaigns.

STRATEGIC AREA 2 : MEMBER VALUE PROPOSITION

Strategic Objective 2A: New Jersey REALTORS® understands the importance of supporting and enhancing our broker relationships by providing tools, information, and guidance to help them navigate the ever-changing business environment.

• Provide broker-centric content through channels and content dedicated to those who manage and oversee offices.

Strategic Objective 2B: New Jersey REALTORS® enhances the member experience by increasing participation and engagement in programs and services, which demonstrates the value New Jersey REALTORS® brings to their business.

• Promote the products, services, and benefits of the state association through traditional and new media marketing channels and meeting membership where they are comfortable receiving content.

Strategic Objective 2C: New Jersey REALTORS® serves as both a support and advisor to it’s local boards by delivering superior products and services that include both accurate and timely data/market stats; lobbying pertaining to local initiatives; cutting-edge professional development programming; grant writing services to leverage financial resources and general operational counsel.

• Retain status as the leader of comprehensive housing market statistics by proactively providing data to press, government agencies, members, and more through personal content, public relations, and targeted communications.

• Offer guidance to local boards on selecting and implementing technology solutions that enhance their own operations and member engagement.

Strategic Objective 2D: New Jersey REALTORS® continues to offer exceptional professional development experiences; networking opportunities for all member audiences; provide a substantive legal resource library on demand; deliver cutting-edge business tools; and provide local boards specialized information materials for member orientation, meetings and events.

• Regularly evaluate and update the programs and services offered to ensure tools meet or exceed industry standards.

• Enhance content, grow subject matter, and include video offerings in the legal library.

• Revise and create new forms to address changes to industry standards; translate into different languages.

Strategic Objective 2E: New Jersey REALTORS® Leadership Academy maintains an exclusive opportunity to identify and mentor potential future leaders through a comprehensive and intensive program.

• Partner with past leadership team members and Leadership Academy graduates to identify and mentor future leaders.

• Publicize opportunities to members at the local level to engage members.

STRATEGIC AREA 1 : COMMUNICATION

Strategic Objective 1A: Through various media channels and a comprehensive communication plan, New Jersey REALTORS® as the trusted source for everything real estate, targets messaging to all member audiences that is relevant to today’s market environment.

• Through clear and consistent communication, continuously strive to remain the trusted source of real estate data and industry updates that members need for their business.

Strategic Objective 1B: Through various media channels and a comprehensive communication plan, New Jersey REALTORS®, as the voice for real estate, delivers accurate, timely, and pertinent information to the public.

• Through paid media channels, earned press and social media, proactively deliver messaging on the value of a REALTOR® being central to the transaction.

STRATEGIC AREA 2 : TECHNOLOGY

Strategic Objective 2A: New Jersey REALTORS® employs existing and emerging technologies that increase member engagement and consumer awareness in the programs, products and services delivered.

• Continue to monitor technological advancements and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.

• Assess emerging programs and services to evaluate their relevance in meeting the evolving needs and ever-changing preferences of the members.

• Continually improve current offerings based on trends, member feedback, and usage data.
