“Jesus saith unto him, 'Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.' ” John 5:8 KJV In this verse Jesus was talking to the man who was paralyzed, yet He told the man to take up his bed and walk. It seemed strange that Jesus would ask a man to do what he couldn’t do. Jesus will never ask you to do anything He’s not going to give you the power to do! You may hear God speaking to you to give a certain amount of money, to give of your labor, to give away some of your furniture, to get on that plane even though you don’t like to fly, to help out at the church or whatever God may be asking of you - you may feel completely unqualified for.
Psalm 144:1 Blessed be The Lord my strength, who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
You may feel like you don’t have enough or feel like you’re not good enough. If God is asking you to do it, if He is speaking to your spirit or speaking through another individual, He will enable you. God would never ask you if He wasn’t going to give you the power to do it, to give it, to have it or to walk in it! Then the man tried he found there was a power there that he didn’t have on his own. If God asks you to do something it isn’t going to be like it used to when you tried it in your own strength.
