Blue Ridge Mountains

Charlottesville’s historic streets, forested New England ablaze with colour, Newport’s studied grandeur and an optional excursion, to visit Cape Cod and Plymouth, complete a wonderful autumn adventure.

Begin in colonial Williamsburg, perhaps joining an optional excursion to Jamestowne, then travel into Virginia and pretty Charlottesville before enjoying a scenic drive through the Shenandoah National Park. A day ‘DC’ offers an optional introduction to the US capital before you journey to New Jersey, crossing the Hudson River to explore pulsating New York – the incomparable ‘Big Apple’. Please note: The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately two hours. Since the tour covers a large distance, south to north, from Virginia to Massachusetts, fall foliage colours will, of course, vary dependent upon your date of travel. On early departures, leaves are more likely to have turned in the northern areas covered, whereas on later dates, it is the more southern areas that will be most notable for their colourful foliage.
