Begin this exciting tour in colourful capital Colombo, then head via Dambulla’s Golden Temple to ancient Polonnaruwa and take in Sigiriya’s Lion Rock buttress towering above the jungle. Journey into verdant Hill Country and the tea capital Nuwara Eliya and set off on a safari in Yala National Park before visiting Galle and staying in an Indian Ocean beach resort.

There’ll be a chance to explore the capital Colombo and witness the Indian Ocean views before the tour heads, via Dambulla’s Golden Temple, to ancient Polonnaruwa, the UNESCO-listed former Sri Lankan capital. You’ll then go to a spice garden, which offers a taste of the country’s exotic flavours, and experience a cooking demonstration and an evening of traditional dance and drumming in the gorgeous city of Kandy. A visit to an elephant orphanage and a safari in the expansive Yala National Park bring yet more highlights before you stop over at the Dutch colonial gem of Galle and enjoy your last night. Take a tuk-tuk ride through the fascinating streets within the walls, or stroll around the battlements.
