Using PMB moisture analysers for soil testing
S
The PMB Moisture Analyser from Adam Equipment
oil testing has many benefits, from assessing environmental impact to improving the amount of nutrients contained in the soil. Moisture analysis is a key component of soil testing. Too much moisture can lead to fungus problems, lack of growth, rotting roots and too few nutrients. Not enough moisture gives the soil a dusty texture that’s hard to work it, too few nutrients and it will not absorb moisture properly. PMB moisture analysers feature a 400 watt halogen bulb designed to dry samples quickly and evenly for speedy turnaround.
How to ensure accurate weighing results

icrosep offers a variety of high quality services to ensure weighing instrumentation delivers continued accurate and precise results to meet various industry standards. The range consists of individual weights, weight sets and related balance calibration and validation services.
outside of specified process tolerances. Just using two test weights at 5% (repeatability) and 100% (sensitivity and eccentricity) capacity ensures efficient balance routine testing in accordance with USP chapter 41 and GWP. CarePac sets are supplied with a calibration certificate and professional weight-handling accessories.
Test weights The weight portfolio covers OIML or ASTM test weights for the performance checks of weighing equipment from 50mg to five tons in all accuracy classes, with or without a calibration certificate. Weights are ideal for the calibration, verification and routine testing of balances and scales. Due to their high quality, test weights are ideal as primary mass standards to calibrate other weights of lower class accuracy, particularly in mass laboratories.
Benefits of calibration A combination of scheduled calibrations performed by service engineers and regular routine testing of equipment by the user is essential to ensure optimum performance and accurate weighing results. Microsep’s calibration and validation services ensure adjustments to factory specifications, reliable and traceable results, compliance to regulatory requirements and certification documentation.
Efficient routine testing CarePac sets are greatly beneficial as they fully support routine testing of balances with external weights. They offer a convenient and cost-effective way to limiting the risk of working

With three different heat settings and 1°C selectable increments, users can test a wide variety of materials and soil types without burning or damaging their samples. The PMB can be connected to computers, printers or a flash drive to collect testing data for record-keeping or later analysis. An automatic testing function allows for quick recall of seven frequently-used testing parameters, which enables users to frequently test the same materials without additional programming. Users can set up their moisture analyser to begin testing whenever the lid is closed for convenience. The PMB requires no additional software, so it can be used in areas outside the laboratories if needed. It can store up to 49 different recipes and 99 test
results for convenient recall. These stored values can also be saved on a flash drive. PMB moisture analysers also feature a capacity tracker and an audible alarm to help prevent overloading. The aluminium housing is scratch-resistant. A pan lifter allows easy sample placement and helps prevent burns.

Enhance your lab balance’s precision with an anti-vibration table
A
nalytical and semi-micro balances are delicate instruments sensitive to minute changes even in optimal conditions set in measuring laboratories. Anti-vibration tables (AVT) are designed to help decrease the effect of vibrations that could affect the readings, especially with fine samples such as powders. The AVT can ensure measurements are precise, accurate and as reliable as possible. Adam Equipment’s AVT anti-vibration table is shipped with all tools necessary for assembly. With a lightweight tubular frame, it’s easy to put together. For an instructional video showing how to set up the anti-vibration table, head to Adam Equipment’s website or its YouTube channel. The internal working surface measures 400 x 450mm, allowing ample space for a balance. It’s made of a scratch-resistant granite slab that sits on shock-absorbing rubber mounts. The balance should be set in the middle in order to stabilise the base to enable greater precision.
The black laminated outer working surface provides enough space for accessories, samples or other objects like pipettes. The two-piece construction keeps the granite slab in the middle and reduces interference caused by air currents, vibrations or movements. The AVT includes levelling feet to accommodate uneven surfaces. The AVT is easy to clean, due to its laminated polished finish. Solid and stable, it’s ideal for measuring fine samples with analytical or semi-micro balances, or to set up a calibration station in a laboratory. Adam’s anti-vibration table helps ensure you get the most value out of your finest lab equipment. To learn more, visit the link below: https://bit.ly/3qKNVjq.
