A CULINARY EVENT THAT’S “FEEDING THE FUTURE”

This festival doesn’t just satisfy a hunger for tasty foods and mouth-watering drinks (that everyone loves of course), but also a hunger for learning about the importance of supporting local farmers, producers and businesses, and a hunger to network and connect with the community at a fun and fabulous festival. We hope you’ll celebrate this special day to reconnect with others and enjoy experiences that will delight all your senses. This year, you’ll enjoy sampling nut-inspired dishes by local restaurants, caterers and chefs. Plus, you can sip wine, brews, coffee and juices produced right here in the North State while listening to talented and entertaining local musicians on two outdoor stages. As you stroll through the amazing grounds of the historic Patrick Ranch Museum, you can also feast your eyes on art, chat with local farmers, shop for local products, learn about the equipment used in nut farming, and find out what’s buzzing with bees, health benefits and the important role agriculture plays in the North State. Also, we encourage everyone to tour the amazing Glenwood home during the festival and join us as we salute our local agriculture, history, farmers and the food we are proud to harvest. NUTTY CHEF COMPETITION RETURNS

We’re looking forward to what has become a true fan-favorite activity. Three local chefs will each have 30 minutes to create a culinary delight using local products from festival vendors, a secret ingredient and their own special additions. The top Nutty Chef will take home a trophy to proudly display for the year.

While all the popular activities and offerings will return to the festival this fall, we’ve decided not to continue with the shuttle service given there are so many other ways to get to the event. We encourage festival goers to take advantage of the bike path that runs along the Midway, knowing bikes will be secure in our bike check. On-site parking is limited so we encourage everyone to carpool, which helps to makes the event experience that much more fun when enjoyed with friends. We’ve also added a number of safety elements including a more spacious layout, enhanced cleaning protocols and a QR code for those looking for hands-free information about the special day. The mission of the California Nut Festival is to connect consumers and farmers, cultivate an understanding of nut production in the state and how California nuts fit into a healthy lifestyle. Proceeds are dedicated to the development of the Patrick Ranch Museum to preserve and interpret the agricultural history of the Sacramento Valley. The festival has given back more than $185,000 to support the Patrick Ranch Museum. We invite you to join us on September 25th for a beautiful day at the Patrick Ranch Museum where the region can celebrate the return of the California Nut Festival and experience first-hand how local farmers, producers and growers are truly “feeding the future.”

Tickets Your admission includes: • Commemorative glass* • 6 food sampling tickets • 6 drink sampling tickets • 1 raffle ticket for drawing at the Art Barn • Festival Guide* • Reusable California Nut Festival Bag* • Live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, art show and more! *while supplies last

T

he Patrick Ranch Museum is excited to be open and hosting the 2021 California Nut Festival. The 28-acre property, donated by Hester Patrick in 2001, provides the perfect venue for this fun culinary event that draws visitors from far and near. Each year thousands of visitors appreciate the music, the many local vendors, and artisans, as they wander through the beautiful gardens and grounds. You’ll enter through the Visitor Center which features various exhibits and is the home to the Patrick Ranch Museum Gift Shop. The gift shop offers art and handcrafted items created by local artists and craftspeople as well as many products from local vendors. One-of-a-kind gifts makes this stop a must when shopping for unique gifts. The Glenwood Farm House, built in 1877, is on the National Registry of Historic Places and the centerpiece of the Museum. The Farm House is open for guided tours Saturday and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Heritage Gardens surrounding the historic Glenwood Farm House features native plants and flowers. Plan to enjoy entertainment on the grand porch surrounding the farm house as you taste the many offerings featured by local restaurants, breweries and wineries. The Master Gardeners of Butte County have a series of demonstration gardens on more than one acre of ranch land. Workshops and demonstrations are held year-round at the Patrick Ranch, becoming a popular destination for backyard gardeners and new homeowners seeking options for water conservation gardening.

While closed this past year due to COVID-19, the Museum continued to develop new projects. The Vintage Iron Club made tremendous strides reaching their vision of a Vintage Iron Museum to house antique farm equipment. A small group of blacksmiths have resumed doing demonstrations for the public on the second Saturday of each month. Blacksmithing is a fading skill, however, we continue to work on developing an area to display original blacksmith tools and hold demonstrations. We also continue to fundraise for our Glenwood Farmhouse kitchen Bee Museum. How lucky we are to have such wonderful partners! Patrick Ranch Museum now offers several events throughout the year aimed at educating the public about the importance of agriculture in our community. Our next event is AutumnFest in October followed with our Christmas Faire, Gingerbread Workshop and Holiday Tea in December. School field trips are held throughout the year for elementary aged children who learn about farming practices from past generations and how agriculture has evolved over time. Patrick Ranch Museum, an interactive agricultural museum, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that operates with a valuable team of dedicated volunteers who provide the diverse skill sets necessary for the continued success of our mission. Volunteer opportunities are available at (530) 892-1525 or by visiting our website at: patrickranchmuseum.org. Looking forward to your participation at the 2021 California Nut Festival.

We Appreciate & Value Our Dedicated Farmers’ Circle The 2021 California Nut Festival committee would like to thank our amazing Farmers’ Circle members, a dedicated and tireless group of farmers and agricultural related businesses that has committed time, money and resources to this event. We appreciate your continued support and belief in the mission of promoting the bounty that is grown and produced here in the North State.
