The Fashion Studies program challenges you to apply interdisciplinary methodologies to examine research themes including globalization, labor, and creative industries; sustainability and zero waste; fashion curating, heritage, and material culture; beauty ideals, diversity, and gender in fashion magazines; identity creation and everyday clothing consumption; and technological innovation and digital fashion futures. At Parsons Paris, particular attention is paid to the

interaction between practice and theory. You engage directly with the industry through lectures and master classes led by fashion practitioners; special projects with Parisian fashion brands; visits to European and Parisian fashion trade fairs, like Première Vision; and exclusive access and visits to the most prominent fashion and textile collections and archives in Paris and in Europe as a whole—from the Musée Galleria and MAD (the Musée des Arts Décoratifs) to the Fashion Museum of Antwerp (MoMu). You discuss fashion in seminar-based classes with established fashion scholars, develop practical industry-relevant skills, and produce individual and group projects and present them as exhibitions and publications. The program is of particular interest to students pursuing careers in academia, fashion communication and publishing, and the field of fashion heritage. Graduates become critical researchers and professionals whose varied skills and abilities enable them to lead across the spectrum of fashion industry positions. The Master of Arts in Fashion Studies program is a 42-credit course of study.
