CASHEWS:

5. 6.

Tropical evergreen tree that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple. It can grow as high as 14 m (46 ft), but the dwarf cashew, growing up to 6 m (20 ft), has proved more profitable, with earlier maturity and higher yields.

Bunk Bed MANGO:

4.

Bunk Bed

Cultivated in most frost-free tropical and warmer subtropical climates Mango trees will grow and produce well in areas with very high temperatures (45 °C). However, when the maximum temperature exceeds 46 °C vegetative growth ceases, especially if it is accompanied by low humidity. For optimum growth and production, the average maximum temperature should be between 27 and 36 °C

4. 5. 6.

BAMBOO

Mango production above altitudes of 600 m is not commercially viable.

CONCRETE

Mango trees grow and produce well on various soil types.

ART & SCIENCE

LIME PAINT: Dries to create a beautiful weathered patina with subtle movement and natural color variation that softens and streaks with age. STAFF & HEALTH CENTER

Lime paint is a 100% mineral paint

WHITE CORRUGATED METAL: Recycled corrugated metal to help with rain water collection. CLASSROOMS

SAND TILE: PERFORMANCE AREA

ELEVATION 001

This material has relatively high abrasion resistance.

RAMMED EARTH: CLASS SECTION

Thermal Mass: Rammed earth behaves as heavyweight masonry with a high thermal mass. Thermal mass absorbs or ‘slows down’ the passage of heat through a material and then releases that heat when the surrounding ambient temperature goes down.

MAIN POINT OF ENTRY

GREEN ROOF

Rammed earth walls are constructed by ramming a mixture of selected aggregates, including gravel, sand, silt and a small amount of clay, into place between flat panels called formwork.

WATER COLLECTION

BAMBOO: Bamboo, like true wood, is a natural composite material with a high strength-to-weight ratio useful for structures. Bamboo has a higher compressive strength than wood, brick or concrete and a tensile strength that rivals steel. EUCALYPTUS: Diverse genus of flowering trees and shrubs.

FARMING

Eucalyptus trees boast a number of features that make their wood ideal for decoration, timber, firewood and pulpwood. The trees can be chopped off at the root and grow back again and the wood is commonly used for everything from fence posts to charcoal to cellulose extraction to biofuels.

AMPITHEATER SEATING

WOOD: Using recylced wood taken from the trees that have been cut down due to construction. SECTION 001

GLASS: ELEVATION 001 ELEVATION 002

Used very minimally due to high price of the material.
