Lancaster III parade celebrates Luck of the Irish
The residents of Lancaster III got their green on to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a cart parade and block party.
Lauren, a resident of Lancaster III, said she and her friends love their neighborhood. “It’s a quiet friendly neighborhood surrounded by oak trees, which we think makes it a great place to walk and visit in the shade.” The residents of this friendly

Kings Point Art League Art Show Winners Announced Submitted by Kings Point Art League On February 27th and 28th, the Kings Point Art League held their annual Art Show. The theme this year was “Over the Rainbow.” Nearly 200 paintings were submitted for judging by well-known artist and author, Anne Abgott. The winners were as follows: “April” by Arlene Egret won Best of Show. “Central Park Winter” by Dianne Sullivan won First Place Overall. This was a Special Award by the Judge. “Through the Looking Glass” by Diane G. Simon won the People’s Choice Award. But those were not the only art and artists recognized in this exceptional gallery of work. First Place ribbons were awarded to Rita Pitre, Mary Russo, Yoshihiro Koseki, Bernadette Mueller, June Healey, Barbara Wolons, Michael Manghise, Bonnie Murphy, Steven Cooper, Mary Chabot, Bruce Fallender, Joseph LoBaido, Jean Paul, and Ted Daubresse. These artists displayed outstanding work across a wide spectrum of styles and media.

Second Place ribbons were awarded to Bobbie Haynes, Joyce Wentzell, Bob Mixner, Susan K. Corbett, Marie Burt, Art Grundberg, Lynn Bremermann, Patricia Midura, Robert J. Krowl, Greta May Barnes, Pat Herzberg, Leigh Waters, and Vernie Frigeri. Third Place ribbons were awarded to Joan Wilson, Ginny June, Marianne Wexler, Katherine Pruschen, Robert J. Krowl, Virginia Greenstone, Elly Sullivan, Mary Russo, Ruth Shambaugh, Bernadette Mueller, Jackaleen Rhinevault, and Art Grundberg. The excellent work offered by those who won these honors sure made judging difficult. In fact, there were many standout pieces among the work that did not place in the top three. Each category was filled with numerous honorable mentions. Artists mingled and admired each other’s work at a wine and cheese reception following the show on Wednesday, February 27.
