Operation Hometown TLC Supports Our Troops
By NOKP Staff Army Captain Scott Hall served as a Tank Platoon Leader with the 1st Cavalry in Iraq. From there he was deployed to Afghanistan, where his orders have him until May 2012. He is a prime example of all that is worthy of praise in our military, a local boy who became a legitimate hometown hero. A graduate of Lakewood Ranch High School, Scott followed that by graduating Cum Laude as a commissioned 2nd Lieutenant from Norwich University where he received the ROTC Army Distinguished Graduate award for 2008. There to pin on his Bars was his grandmother, Gerry Haller, who earned her own 2nd Lieutenant bars in 1943. When, in Iraq, he received his 1st

But, of course, Captain Hall is just one of hundreds of thousands of brave men and women who volunteered to serve their country, willingly traveling halfway around the

Lord, I ask for courage. Courage to face and conquer my own fears. Courage to take me where others will not go. I ask for strength. Strength of body to protect others. Strength of spirit to lead others. I ask for dedication. Dedication to my job, to do it well. Dedication to my country, to keep it safe. Give me Lord, concern. For those who trust me and compassion for those who need me. And please Lord. Through it all be at my side.
