person can change her future by merely changing her mindset. Executive Director Joan Dillon of Glassboro Child Development Centers is proof this works. The non-profit’s leader took a critical look at operations and staff-

The agency’s mission is to provide programs for working families who need affordable childcare – an industry notorious for low wages and high staff turnover. Let’s Talk About Changes

djusting to change seems to be the new normal. The Real Estate market is no exception. With all the changes we’ve seen over the past 2 years, this market has seen unprecedented times. The way we use our homes has evolved which has caused many people to start thinking about upsizing, down-sizing or even relocating altogether. Low interest rates and extremely low inventory of homes for sale has caused a huge supply and demand situation. Now more than ever, the importance of working with a local agent who has evolved with these changes can make the difference in getting your offer accepted out of multiple other offers or finding you the strongest buyer at the highest price possible and successfully selling your home. The shift we’ve seen in real estate has caused full-time, active agents like myself to evolve with these changes in order to provide the best service to my clients. First and foremost, my main goal is to educate the consumer. Helping a soon-tobe buyer or seller understand exactly what is going on in their market is one of the most important steps in a successful transaction. Next, the transformation of my strategy. We cannot run our business the

same way we did just a few years ago. We need to evolve with the market. I accepted this challenge and adapted my business to use more creative, cutting edge and competitive strategies. As a result, although this market has me working harder than ever before, I am able to help people through what could be the most significant milestone in their lives. And THAT’S why I love what I do. For me, being a local Weichert Real Estate Agent in Moorestown allows me to bring solutions to the real estate needs of the community. There are endless scenarios of why people are buying or selling and through my experience and expertise, I am able to take some of the stress off of their plates. I value the trust and confidence my clients have in me and take seriously my responsibility to lead the process. It may seem like a scary time to sell or purchase a house, but I assure you, we can get it done together! To see how these changes have affected you give me a call today at 732-690-0888. ■

families and staff, but for the agency itself”. Glassboro Child Development Centers is creating career paths for its staff, who are mostly women, and providing salaries well above minimum wage, with paid time off and comprehensive health and retirement benefits. This growth earned Dillon and GCDC the Change the World Award at the 2021 Child Care Success Summit recently in Las Vegas. “Invest in your team”, says Dillon, “a person who feels appreciated will always do more than is expected.” ■ (856)881-3331 jdillon@gcdckids.net

Celebrating Women Game Inventors

arch is Women's History Month, and it got me thinking about the wonderful women game inventors I have met and whose games I have enjoyed over the years. Every year Toy Fair happens in New York City. A convention for retailers that showcase games, crafts, and toys - it is an inspiring and invigorating experience. It was there I met Julien Sharp, the founder of Funnybone Toys (now owned by FoxMind). She invented many fun, engaging, and beautifully designed games. My personal favorites created by Julien and her company are Akin,

The last women-invented entertainment is not a game but a craft, Shrinky Dinks, invented by Betty Morris and Kathryn Bloomberg. The hours my sisters and I spent coloring them and watching them curl up in the oven, flatten out and then shrink in front of our eyes! It is no surprise to me that so many of the games I enjoyed as a child - and continue to enjoy - were invented by women. My mother constantly invented games and activities for us. She invented them in the moment. They kept us entertained, engaged, challenged, and happy. Thank you to all the women who invented so many games and hours of fun! Certified Professional Coach

My name is Faye Fulginiti, and I’m a Certified Professional Coach. I really do believe that my best qualification is the fact that I really care. I also believe that many opinions of myself were created during my middle school and high school years. There is a difference between Hearing and Listening! I LISTEN! Trust is a huge issue. It'd be difficult to trust a complete stranger. It’s something earned. You can expect Confidentiality and Respect, which are necessary in any positive relationship. My goal is to empower you to answer your own questions. Often we allow roadblocks to get in the way of what we already know.

I believe the teen years to be the most difficult. You are no longer a “kid”, and not quite an adult. Do you have difficulty knowing where you want to be? Let’s work together to make it easier to find your own voice. During the many years I counseled high school people, we worked on self esteem issues, eating disorders, depression, abuse, and substance abuse. Remember, you deserve to be the best “you” possible. shley is President of Victory Fiduciary Consulting located in Mullica Hill NJ. Ashley oversees the firm’s overarching executive operations, including 410k Plan Liaison, New Business Development, Private Investor Client Services, Vendor Management, and Human Resources. She educates Plan Trustees and provides recommendations on required 401k plan conformity to ERISA guidelines. She also serves as a founding member of a multi firm Investment Committee comprised of 22 advisors from across the country. Ashley is instrumental in both studying and then applying technical and fundamental investment analysis to Victory’s investment process. She joined Victory in 2008 and went on to earn her AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) professional designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies.

She was attracted to come work with her father at Victory because there were so many similarities that she saw between nursing and acting as a fiduciary financial advisor. The principles of educating, establishing trust, and always putting her client’s best interests ahead of her own helped to make this a smooth and exciting transition. Ashley has worked to help make a difference in her community by organizing an annual children’s coat drive to distribute directly to kids in need. This year we reached over 300 coats delivered to local schools. She also serves on the board of

a local non-profit Lead The Way who gives assistance to at risk families in our community. Ashley has been married to her best friend for 18 years and they have three children. When she is not cheering her kids on at their various sport endeavors, Ashley enjoys personal fitness and has completed multiple half marathons and half ironman distance triathlons. Most recently, she completed her first full ironman distance in September at Ironman Maryland with a time of 16 hours 41 minutes. ■ (856)464-3100 ashleyr@victoryfiduciary.com

S Home Company is a home and lifestyle store owned by Amanda Lewis and Stephanie Kinney. Ironically, neither women came from a business or sales background. Amanda has been a middle school science teacher for 15 years. Stephanie has worked in the mental health field as a counselor for the last 8 years. The company started as a pandemic hobby. RS is short for “Rusted Salvage”, the name comes from how the women got their start in business. In the beginning, they found themselves primarily in old barns, basements, attics looking for anything they could find that would make a decorative statement. Amanda and Stephanie

would often buy old furniture to refinish and resell; they eventually moved on to collecting and decorating with some of their finds. The women moved their business from the garage to a small antique shop in Franklinville and a co-op space in Medford. Soon they noticed how much people appreciated and valued their style because of the ability to match the old with the new. They are passionate about giving old things a new life and sharing these things with customers. Amanda and Stephanie decided to do business as “RS Home Company”, because the style of the company has expanded into so much more than ever imagined. RSHC believes in being inspired by your space

weetsboro Pastry Shoppe is an old fashioned neighborhood bakery and that’s just how owner Karen Morrison wants it. “I wanted a bakery reminiscent of the days when people would walk to their local bakery for something sweet instead of going to the supermarket,” says Morrison. After 10 years in business, Morrison and her third generation baker step-brother have mastered making some of the greatest and sweetest creations around and almost everything is made in-house. One of the keys to the success of this community oriented Swedesboro bakery is the talent of its staff. Morrison and her step-brother welcome their staff to collaborate and

come up with new ideas for designs. “We also want our customers to bring us their ideas,” says Morrison. This sweet shoppe takes pride in a “non-cookie cutter” philosophy. Customizing a cake for a birthday, graduation, holiday or any occasion one could think of is where Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe shines! ■ Sweetsboro Pastry Shoppe 1302 Kings Highway Swedesboro • 856-241-7722 Sweetsborobakery.com
