Christmas at Trinity will look a little different this year

rinity UMC Mullica Hill (284 Cedar Rd, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062) will be offering multiple worship services through the Christmas season to create space for all who wish to worship with us. Our regular Advent worship services in December will take place Tuesdays at 12pm, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 6pm, and Sundays at 9am, 11am, & 6pm.

During the week of Christmas, we will host “The Longest Night” service on December 21 at 7pm. This is a service designed for those who are grieving during this holiday season to have an opportunity to mourn the losses they have experience as we worship.

Our Candlelight Christmas services will take place on December 23 at 5pm, 7pm, & 9pm and December 24 at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm, & 11pm. We are asking all who wish to attend one of our Candlelight Christmas services to register in advance so that we can ensure there in a place for everyone to worship in a safe and socially distanced way.

Joe Italiano’s Maplewood

or more than six months, the Maplewood Moorestown has been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant is excited to announce that it has reopened!

“We are excited to re-open again. We are considering this our grand reopening. This is our third location and we were only open for about a year before the pandemic shut us down,” third-generation owner Jim Italiano said.

The Maplewood has been synonymous with excellence in Italian food for more than 75 years.

Italiano says he and his team have focused on what makes the Maplewoods in Hammonton and Mays Landing popular year in and year out, and are bringing it to Moorestown.

“We are bringing the best of the Hammonton location and what our family has to offer to Moorestown -great food and a

great culture,” Italiano said.

The Maplewood Inn in Hammonton and Maplewood Mays Landing are iconic stops for many heading to and from the Jersey Shore.

Both locations are popular with locals as well, who order their favorites every time they come to the restaurants.

ducation from the Heart started in 2018 offering inhome services for Early Childhood Education, tutoring for K-3rd grade, Knitting and Information Technology lessons.

We decided to start offering inhome services since parents did not have many options besides center-based care for their children. It is our mission to provide high quality education to children, recognizing their in-

dividual abilities and interests while being flexibile to parent’s schedules. We still offer these services primarily in evenings and weekends however; we are now offering full-time and parttime childcare and education at our Family Childcare Center.

s COVID-19 cases continue to climb across the country including in the Greater Philadelphia area, cancer patients and funding for critical cancer research continue to suffer. The American Cancer Society, the world’s largest nongovernmental non-profit funder of cancer research, has been severely impacted by the global pandemic. COVID-19 reduced the Society’s ability to fund cancer research by 50% in 2020 – the lowest investment in a century – and ACS needs community support to overcome this threat.

Cancer is a disease that can affect anyone, but it does not affect everyone equally. Access to treatment and vital screening

tests, which was already a difficult battle before the pandemic for many minority populations and people who lack health insurance, has become even more difficult for the general population. According to a recent study, 79% of cancer patients in active treatment report delays due to the pandemic.

Camden County resident Diamonique Valentine is no stranger to the risks of delayed treatment. In August 2019 at just 27 years old, she found a lump. Says Valentine “I thought what the heck, what is this? I just went and got a breast exam last month”. As any good patient would, she attempted to schedule her screenings immediately, but due to a lock on

her insurance, she was unable to get screened. To do so out of pocket would cost thousands of dollars – money she didn’t have.

With the support and resources of the team at Cooper University Hospital and the American Cancer Society through free screening programs, Valentine was able to access the treatment she needed. Her delay may have been short, but her cancer was aggressive and quickly progressed to Stage 3 Breast Cancer.
