Trick or Treat, it’s Halloween time! Game Friendzy is ready. Come learn Pinocle in a day, the game where tricks are actually treats. The tricks you win in this game are your points aka treats. Fill your bag with points while playing pinochle. There are many ways to earn points...come and see!

Pinochle is a points based card game typically played with two, three, or four players. This card game uses selected cards from 2 regular 52 decks of cards. Depending on your variation, a single Pinochle deck of cards has two 9s, Jacks, Queens, Kings, 10s and Aces in all four suits. It is a

competitive card game where you are trying to reach a set number of points through playing a series of hands before your opponents do.

Game Friendzy is offering a Saturday Special: Learn Pinochle in a Day, Saturday, October 22, 10 am – 2 pm. It is designed for both new players and for players returning to Pinochle. There will be breaks and time for (bring your own) lunch. You don’t need to come with anyone. We make tables as you arrive. It’s a great way to meet people! through December! Patrons enjoy activities like plant swaps, pup struts, kid run markets and our well-known Craft & Antique shows. We even saw the launch of Mount Laurel’s first farmers market! All of our events are supported by or managed by members of the Rancocas Woods Business Association, a 501c3 nonprofit.

One of our favorite annual events, Boos and Brews, is coming up on Friday, October 14th. Join us from 6-9 PM for a costume contest, interactive activities, live entertainment and more. Beer will be provided by Dr. Brewlittle’s, Bout the Hops Brewery and Wagonhouse Winery. You will also have a chance to shop the “Witches’ Market” featuring tarot readers, spooky and occult themed vendors.

Fall also brings our final Craft and Antique Shows. Shop local

artists and creators on October 22 and November 26, 10 AM - 3 PM. There is always live music, kid’s crafting, and a food truck to enjoy! Our November craft show will be an extra special day as we will participate in Shop Small Saturday. This is like the Black Friday for small businesses, so be prepared for some great deals!

Haines

Farm & Garden Supplying All Your Fall Needs

We are a family owned and operated Garden Center that has been in existence for over 115 years and is in its 4th generation. The business started around 1885 as a general store named Morton & Haines. They sold groceries and farmers’ supplies, including farm equipment. It housed the “Parry Post Office” until the free rural delivery system was inaugurated. At that time the post office was moved to its current site – “The Palmyra Post Office”. As farms in the area were sold, they added a Buick Dealership known as Haines Buick.

On our ancestral site, which is rich in history, with the tradition of a turnpike, tollhouse, a historic store and post office, the family firm continues. Great-grandchild, Todd Perkins, and wife Beth, run the business today.

Although we no longer sell farm equipment or Buicks, Haines Farm & Garden is now comprised of a Garden Center, Gift Shop and a Pond Department. We still offer old fashioned service, quality products, a friendly staff and our dogs, Bubba Gump, Lester & Mojo. Parts of the building and some of the scales that we use today, were used in the original general store.

Our fall offerings include Mums, Ornamental Kale, Pansies, Pumpkins, Cornstalks and Straw. We carry Bagged & Bulk Mulches, Soil, Stone & Sand. Other garden-

ing products carried are Retaining Wallstone, Belgium Blocks, Containers, Gazing Balls, Concrete Statuary & Birdbaths. We also have a large selection of Fertilizers & Chemical products.

In our Organic Department our most popular product is Safe & Simple Corn Gluten. It helps control crabgrass, dandelions, chickweed and most importantly is not harmful to the environment. We carry a full line of Espoma Products, including a 4 Step Lawn Program that is chemical free and safe for kids and pets, Organic Disease & Insect Control and Milky Spore Grub Control. Additional products include Earthworm Castings, Alaska Fish Fertilizer and Diatomaceous Earth. Compost bins and rain barrels are also available.
