No Bull Mattress & More has the prices you are looking for right in time for Fall. They have something for everyone. Saving every customer 55 to 80 percent every minute of every day in a no haggle, no hassle, no pressure environment.

No Bull Mattress & More truly is the little guy the big guys hope you don’t find. That is their motto, and there may not be a more fitting one for any business anywhere. Located in a little warehouse next to Dunkin’ Donuts at 2060 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, take one step inside the front door and you will instantly realize it is unlike any

mattress store you have ever been in.

Carole Cutry is the owner and operator with family employees. With virtually no paid advertising, and operating out of a warehouse rather than a big expensive showroom, she simply does not have the overhead that all the others have and can therefore hit lower price points.

Not only has she taken all of the overhead out of buying a mattress, she also eliminated the deceptive advertising, phony sales and high pressure sales tactics that are unfortunately all too common nowadays.

“My goal is for my customers

to have fun buying a mattress,” Cutry says. “And if they’re able to come here and find lower prices than any other place, and not have to haggle for those prices, that is a fun buying experience. I want every person that walks out of here to have a smile on their face. We want to be a breath of fresh air in the marketplace.”

No Bull Mattress & More can be found at 2060 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, and can be reached at (856) 751-1371 or www.nobullmattress.com Call or stop in. Open Mon – Fri 10-5pm (closed Tuesday) Sat 11-430pm, Sun 12-4pm.

Getting ready to tackle a home renovation/addition can be one of the most exciting and stressful experiences you’ll ever have. There’s no shortage of things to think about, and just about everyone has an opinion on how things should go.

Here are a few tips based on years of experience working through the renovation process with clients, as well as undertaking it myself.

1. Poor planning is the costliest mistake you can make. The best way to minimize risk is to front-load as much of the discovery process as possible. Surgeons don’t begin an operation

without first making a sound diagnosis, nor should anyone start construction without investing in sound planning and design. It’s much easier to make changes long before hammers start swinging!

2. Be clear on your goals, and don’t miss the forest for the trees! It’s critical to have an emotional vision for what you want out of the project – think beyond the pragmatic, quantifiable aspects and more about WHY you are doing what you’re doing. What do you want to feel when you open the front door? What are the primary reasons for renovating or adding on? When these overarch-

ing ideas are thought out, it can not only help to simplify some of the smaller details, but also aid in identifying aspects that don’t fit within that vision.

3. You get what you pay for. People tend to significantly underestimate just how much things cost, and by picking a focus (see #2), you can identify what is most important, and where you’re willing to compromise. A good architect and contractor can advise you on how and where to make changes to have the most impact on your bottom line, without sacrificing your goals.

Sloan Springer Architect is a design-focused practice that helps busy families transform their dated houses into modern homes that perfectly reflect their lifestyles. Designing and building a new home or addition is expensive and time-consuming – but our job is to make sure the process is also enjoyable and engaging!

We don't just design houses, we craft happy and healthy homes.

Searching for your dream home can be a very exciting journey. However, many people start to get frustrated with the process when they meet various obstacles finding the home they’ve always dreamed about.

As I partner with my clients and work hard to find them the home of their dreams, I also try to help them understand how home ownership is an investment. An investment that will very likely help you to ultimately get into your dream home. Let me explain…

Your first home, and very likely your first few homes, may not be what you would consider your “dream home”. Let’s face it, buying a home is expensive! It takes a significant amount of cash to get into a home. Most home owners rely on the equity built over time in their current property to purchase their dream home. You see, equity is the difference between what you owe on your home versus what you could sell your home for today.

When you see people upsizing or even renovating their homes,

quite often they are using the equity that they have accumulated over time as their home increased in value.

I’ve met many first-time home buyers who have spent years searching for the perfect home. If only they purchased a home when they started looking, they would have accumulated equity to possibly find that dream home today. So, instead of looking at your next home as a final destination, try viewing it as a long-term investment, a tool that is going to help you move in the direction of your dream home.

Today, the best thing you can do is buy a home WHEN you can, WHERE you can, and however you can so that in time you can leverage that investment to get you closer into that dream home.

As a local Realtor, I think it is so important to share this type of knowledge with my clients so that they can ultimately make the best, and informed, decision for themselves.

Bridge for Beginners, Simplified

Welcome to 2023! The fun but frenzied season of holiday obligations has subsided. Now is the perfect time to do something just for yourself, something fun, something social, something challenging.

Start to learn how to play bridge or return to bridge. Get started in just one day. Really.

Game Friendzy is offering a fantastic one-day session called Learn Bridge in a Day?™ on Saturday, January 24, 9:30 am-4 pm, at its spacious new location at 7 Carnegie Plaza in Cherry Hill, where there is plenty of free parking.

In just a few hours, participants will become familiar with the core concepts of bridge, including basic bidding, scoring, and the mechanics of bridge play, as well as get a great deal of hands-on playing practice.

The $50/person fee includes a complimentary continental breakfast, pizza lunch, and coffee, tea, and light snacks throughout the day. Participants are also welcome to bring snacks or lunch; a refrigerator is available.

By the end of the session, participants will have played several basic hands of bridge and be ready to continue to learn through beginner lessons and continuing to play. As a bonus, participants get a $10 discount on an upcoming in-person Introduction to Bridge course at Game Friendzy.

Bridge is a trick-taking card game in which two competing

partnerships vie to win the most points. Learning to play bridge is a great investment that is beneficial in many ways.

Experts credit game play with reducing stress, providing relaxation, sharpening brain function, forging social interactions, and improving coordination and dexterity.

Because bridge is easy to learn but challenging to master, it is endlessly entertaining. Players

can enjoy bridge at whatever level they are at, from beginner to advanced.

Register for Learn Bridge in a Day by calling Game Friendzy at 856-795-PLAY (7529) or online at www.gamefriendzy.com/shop. Visit the Game Friendzy calendar at www.gamefriendzy.com/ calendar/ to see all the bridge, mah jongg, canasta, and pinochle gaming sessions, lessons, and special events available.

The New Year is here. It is a new year, but sometimes it is hard to feel an expectancy when you are grieving. There are some things you can do to move forward in your grief journey throughout this winter season. Talking, Gathering and Remembering…

TALK - talking about the person who died is good. No one wants to be forgotten. Sharing about him or her keeps their memory alive. It may bring tears but inevitably it will also bring smiles. Sometimes, you may not be able to talk about them. If you cannot, write down your feelings. Find an outlet to share your thoughts. Do not keep them inside.

GATHER - be around people even if it is for a short period of time. You may not feel like being present or you may be partially present. Explain that with those around you. It is appropriate to voice that it is a difficult time. People do understand. If they do

not, they will try. Death is an inevitable part of life; everyone will experience it. Most times, people may not know what to say to you. Be ready for that.

REMEMBER - we never forget the ones who die. Do not think of it as ‘never forgetting’; think of it as remembering. Remembering the person, the emotions, the feelings, the life. Remember where they sat, hang an ornament or stocking for them, light a candle, mention their name around the table, toast their life, etc.

At some point, we all learn to live in our loss. Eventually, we will not be sad every hour of the day or even every day. Our loss becomes part of our story. A story we can share so others know they can survive too. We are here for you and have support group options and literature for you if you desire. Please reach out and ask us, (856)983-1005.

Sincerely, Your Friends at Bradley Funeral Home

Installing films on the interior windows of your home may not be at the top of your home-makeover “to-do” list, but South Jersey Window Tinting has several good reasons why homeowners should consider this a priority. South Jersey Window Tinting believes in, “Block the Sun, Not the View” concept.

As one of the area's largest contractors of window films, South Jersey Window Tinting has more than three decades of experience and knowledge in the importance of Window Film. Here are some tips why window tinting is essential:

Why should people seriously consider investing in window tinting for their home?

“For heat, glare, fading of flooring, furniture, paintings, wallpaper, etc. We also offer safety film to protect from glass breakage and intruders”.

How does putting film on the windows reduce energy costs?

“By installing film, you are not allowing 100% of the cold air

to penetrate through the glass surface, reducing heating costs. What does come through during the winter is trapped, which keeps the heat inside your home”.

Talk a little bit about how your product provides protection from the sun?

“This is the latest, nanotechnology film that is applied to the interior of the existing glass, which insulates homes both summer and winter. It protects you and your home from harmful UV rays”.

How much does it cost?

“Pricing is job specific. Call or email us to receive a FREE estimate. We run several pricing incentives throughout the year...We have one going on now!”

What's involved in this installation?

“Jobs vary from one to the next. Our experienced installers will go over everything with you from start to finish”.

With most people spending more time at home, dealing with excessive glare and the need for

privacy has become a priority. Ask the experts at South Jersey Window Tinting for suggestions!

Thinking about Auto Tinting? Our products block out 99.9% of UV rays to improve safety and privacy. Our films are approved by the American Cancer Society. We are South Jersey’s #1 Auto Tinting company since 1985!

Concerned about break-ins in

our communities? Turn Burglary into attempted burglary with Clear Safety Film that can be applied to your existing windows! Safety film strengthens your glass, will hold glass together in the event of an impact and stops flying glass which will deter burglaries. Clear Safety Film is applied directly to the interior window pane which will improve

safety, security and give you peace of mind! Call for a FREE estimate.

Pelham Admissions Edge is Helping High School Students with the College Application Process

ow do you create a robust extracurricular profile for your high schooler’s college application?

Beyond the GPA, many facets of a student profile are critical in the college admissions review process, such as extracurricular activities. Therefore, students need to select their extracurricular activities strategically. In particular, students should include academic, career, arts, community service, work, and sportsbased options in their activities portfolio. Colleges evaluate the strength of applicants by looking at the breadth and depth of a student’s involvement in activities. The profile should reveal significant leadership skills, creativity, community commitment, and multitasking skills.

In the first year of high school, students should join 2-3 school clubs. Then, students should re-evaluate their interests and make adjustments. Over the summer, students should de-

velop these interests further through summer camps, volunteerism, and work experiences.

The second year of high school is crucial, and colleges take this year seriously in the evaluation process. Suppose the student develops an interest in a club that does not exist in their town. In that case, the student should, with parental guidance, start a similar club in their community. Also, students should hold offices in clubs, such as treasurer, secretary, or vice president. Students should peruse college websites to determine offered clubs, then join or start similar ones in their high school.

In the third year, students should establish a consistent pattern of interests by going into their second or third year of involvement in particular activities such as chorus, robotics, FBLA, horseback riding, fencing, or baseball. Also, students should focus on career-related experiences such as volunteering at a

hospital or participating in science fairs for STEM fields. YARD Sciences in Mt. Laurel, NJ, offers great options for students interested in STEM. Finally, senior year, rinse and repeat. Then, your student will be ready to write

great essays about their experiences, demonstrating the value they will add to any university.
