A partnership in plastic Building cabs for tractors and other vehicles is Custom Products specialty, though some cabs are easier to make than others. For instance, the company was once asked to make a folding cab, but manufacturing a cab with folding parts wasn t practical, and the idea went nowhere. In September, the company received another challenging request, this one for a cab to attach to a riding lawnmower. Revolutionary styling is how Randy Reinke, the company s president and chief executive officer, described the cab s design. The cab s surfacing and curvature would require parts that couldn t be easily fabricated from metal. Some of the parts would be best made from plastic.
