Memorial Middle School held its 2023 National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony for its newest inductees. Congratulations to Lola Aspirany, Phillippe Bayeux-Goeller, Jayden Byles, Jordin Campbell, Karim Chaabane, Alexander DeSantis, Christian Mania, Jacob Parkerton, Lena Preziosi, Nekolaus-Edward Saldutti, and Patricia Tiseo. The ceremony was coordinated by advisor Ms. Ament. The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle-level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Woodland Park marked Earth Day and Arbor Day with two tree plantings. At Dowling Gardens, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Pi Xi Omega chapter, based at Montclair State University, planted a tree with help from Mayor Keith Kazmark. At Beatrice Gilmore School. Alfred Baumann Library Children’s

Librarian Sara Rapa read “Nell Plants a Tree” by Anne Wynter and Daniel Miyares to all the students. A copy of the book was donated to the school library. Then, student representatives from each homeroom helped to plant a tree near the blacktop behind the school.
