200+ editorials in 2020

In 2020, the world faced an unprecedented global pandemic. As a health sciences campus with a ground-level view of this novel coronavirus, our faculty experts were uniquely qualified to share vital information on this ever evolving health crisis. The Office of Public Relations gathered experts across the organization that could speak with the media on everything from public health topics, research on vaccines, bioethics and religious values, politics and COVID-19’s impact on business and the economy. These interviews ran on every top tier media outlet as well as directly in our local community. We also worked closely with faculty to hone their voice by providing training on how to craft editorials to share their expertise and thoughts in an unedited format. These media stories and thought pieces reached hundreds of thousands of readers throughout the United States, directly shaping the public’s view, helping to make sense of what seemed to be a nonsensical reality of seemingly endless loss, illness and economic stagnation.
