The aim of Nextnews is to provide yet another vehicle for communication that has already been established through our numerous successful joint projects, the visions which we share and the extensive close conferences which yielded both inspiring and fruitful results and long lasting cooperation. Nextsense - sponsor of the MASIT 2009 Conference MASIT, the Macedonian ICT Chamber of Commerce is organizing the 7th SEEITA - 2nd SEE ICT Forum & 6th MASIT Open Days (and Nights) Conference. The conference will be held in Ohrid, in hotel Inex Gorica, from 18th to 20th of November, 2009. Nextsense as Microsoft Gold partner was presented by its CEO Vasko Kronevski on the 12th Annual Executive Partner Summit organized by Microsoft.

Nextsense supported series of seminars on eGovernment for Successful Regional Development in organization of Centre for eGovernance Development for SEE.

The Microsoft Executive Partner Summit (EPS) EMEA is an annual exclusive executive event designed to bring together Senior Executives from Microsoft and Microsoft's key partners from Europe, the Middle East and Africa for a 2.5 day, residential conference in Cannes, France.

Nextsense e-Government solutions were presented on workshops in Podgorica Montenegro, Belgrade - Serbia, Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tirana - Albania and Skopje – Macedonia.

Nextsense part of the international HR Conference In September 2009, The Macedonian HR Association held the first international HR Conference focusing on how HR contributes to the success of companies. Its main focus was on the future oriented values, the workforce planning, the carrier development and orientation, benefits and compensation, recruiting, followed by famous companies’ success stories. There were several well known experts in the HR Field, from Macedonia and abroad who were keynote speakers to the Conference, sharing their experiences and best practices. Nextsense also took part on this Conference both as participant and as contributor. For the purposes of the Conference, as well as for further development and operations, Nextsense had designed and launched the web site (www.mhra.mk) of the Macedonian HR Association.

ISO/IEC 20000 standard promotes the adoption of an integrated process approach for effectively deliver managed services to meet the business and customer requirements with use of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practice for IT Service Management. In cooperation with GTZ, Nextsense started the process of IT Mark certification. ITMark is aimed specifically at SMEs and provides the software companies with means to enhance their business and improve information security management. It will also improve software development processes, in order for them to gain recognition for their level of capability through the ITMark certification.

SMS Zone Parking The on-street parking in the center of Skopje was launched in August 2009. The project represents a new way of parking management in the city centre- zoning and payment with a mobile telephone.

How

it works?

The technology for this project’s realization is provided by Nextsense together with NOW!Innovations, one of the world’s leading digital permit and mobile payment solution providers for the parking and transport sectors. The system is fully authorized and supported by the local parking operator JP Gradski Parking -Skopje.

Simple for users, challenging for the IT solution.

Nextsense selected the system ParkNOW! as a platform for organizing the parking via mobile devices and electronic permits. Combining the knowledge of the mobile communications and the parking industry, the system enables flexible integration of technologies and easy processing of the most popular payment methods.

To start parking:

Experiences from other European countries were used for the realization of this project. The system was first introduced on the Belgian market by the city of Antwerp in 2004, but over time other European countries started to implement it. This system is also implemented for trial use in the USA and Great Britain. The platform is being continuously improved and its functions widened. The system is one of the very few 2nd generation platforms for parking organization by means of mobile communication and administration of electronic permissions. It combines deep understanding both of the mobile communication and the parking industry, and allows flexible integration of the technologies and easy processing of the most popular payment methods.

User: Sends SMS to 144144 with the name of the zone (A3). Within 2 seconds: The application ParkNOW! receives the SMS via mobile operator message centre. The application will confirm if the car can be parked in compliance with the parking policies and restriction lists. If the user did not specify car plate number, the last one will be used. The charge for the session will be calculated and appropriate response sent back to the user. User: Receives SMS that parking has started

The session will be stopped and appropriate response sent back to user. User: Receives the SMS with the parking amount.

This project is developed and implemented by Nextsense and it is the first project of such scope in the region. he past years have seen significant growth in the number of possibilities to enable parliamentary services with the help of information technologies. The potential for the IT to significantly enhance the way that individuals and parliamentary bodies conduct processes within Parliament is now more evident than ever before. The challenge for parliament is to continually embrace the opportunities that the information technology provides and ensure that citizen’s expectations are met, while ensuring program and cost effectiveness. Macedonian parliament has well documented and defined flow of work, processes and papers. Information technology can support different business processes in the parliament, including access to the information, delegating the work, exchanging the documents and connecting citizens with their MPs. The e-Parliament represents basis for transformation of the methods of operation of the Parliament as well as the way of thinking and behavior of the MPs and also improved the operations of the Parliament to a new and advanced level.

The World e-Parliament Conference 2009, will take place on 3, 4 and 5 November 2009 at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. The event is co-organized by the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the U.S. House of Representatives and the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament and is intended to promote the effective use of modern technologies in legislatures. Around 400 participants will attend the World e-Parliament Conference 2009, representing parliamentary assemblies from around the world. The Macedonian delegation will be headed by Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. On the conference, the Macedonian e-Parliament system will be presented by the Vice-president of Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jani Makraduli. With this solution the Government of the Republic of Albania prepares and holds the meetings, providing high level of efficiency, cost- efficiency, mobility, transparency and responsibility in the process of preparation, implementation and the daily coordination of the decisions resulting from the meetings of the Government of Republic of Albania. It integrates multiple government institutions and processes into a distributed and orchestrated process that transformed preparation and execution of the government’s meetings from paper to paperless process.
