INTERNATIONAL FLEET MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2014 The European Fleet Industry's most coveted Award is presented every year to the person who has most successfully developed an international fleet management strategy and implemented an efficient international car policy, leading to an optimised cost structure and taking into account local differences and current fleet trends like sustainability, safety and mobility management.

The Award was won by Michael Dana, Senior Fleet Manager EMEIA at FedEx. The Award was presented to him by Hans-Georg Lutz, Senior Manager International Corporate Sales at Daimler, and Michael Pflüger, Senior Manager International Key Account Management at Mercedes-Benz Vans. Being responsible for a fleet of 7,800 vehicles, Mr. Dana impressed the jury by his success in transforming a complex vehicle fleet in a complex geographical framework into a cost-effective operation, both respecting company targets and achieving high employee satisfaction. All this without losing sight of safe-driving projects, effective and relevant KPIs, a top-notch health and safety policy, and an enviable CO2 reduction scheme. The second prize in the category Fleet Manager of the Year 2014 went to Karen Ramsden, Senior Procurement Manager Global Fleet at Oracle. The Award was presented to her by Armand van Veen, President of Athlon International. The jury was impressed with Oracle's extraordinary turnaround of its fleet management project, successfully developing a cost-effective international car policy within the HR benefit sphere and setting up a centralised fleet management control centre in Romania. Fer Derwort, European Fleet Manager at Infor, got the third prize in this category, which was presented to him by Vinzenz Pflanz, Chief Commercial Officer at Fleet Logistics International. Infor successfully implemented a straightforward approach to fleet management, using one vehicle brand, one car leasing company and one fuel card for all of its 15 countries.
