Northfield Arts Guild Theater

CCC Artworks – through Dec. 2 – Creating Community Club is an art club for young adults on the autism spectrum. The group creates art collaboratively and individually and celebrates the social connections, personal growth and creative expression that happen through art making. CCC collaborated with the Guild’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. The work created by CCC artists in this exhibit was incorporated into the projection during the play.

The band is made up of Toby Jensen, Sandy Jensen and Mike Hildebrandt, a Minnesota Rock & Country Music Hall of Fame fiddle player. A jazz duo comprised of two top-tier Twin Cities jazz players who happen to have deep connections to Northfield. Bassist Kevin Clements taught jazz bass at Carleton College for years when he wasn’t flying as a commercial pilot or gigging with any number of Twin Cities jazz greats. Dave Hagedorn is among the most in-demand vibes (the vibraphone is that thing that looks like a xylophone) players on the country. He performs regularly with many Twin Cities jazz groups as well as the Minnesota Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. This month, they’re excited to have the great drummer Greg Schutte return to Imminent to share the stage with them.

Local authors Susan M. Hvistendahl and Jeffrey M. Sauve will be on hand to sign band their new book, a history of the St. Olaf Band 1891-2018, published locally by By All Means Graphics. From a small group of young men who formed the St. Olaf College Cornet Band in 1891 to a 94-piece Band that made a concert tour of New Zealand and Australia in 2018, the St. Olaf Band has been on an ascendant path of strong and dynamic musicianship. This definitive account by Susan M. Hvistendahl and Jeffrey M. Sauve covers significant milestones in the history of this well-known musical ensemble. The
