Solutions
Problems Profitability Population growth fuels increased demand for food production while arable land area decreases.
Climate change reduces agricultural productivity through the degradation of soil and water resources.
Farmers face a volatile marketplace for their exports and mechanisms for financing their operations.
Identify issues with crop health early. Improves production and crop yield by remedying issues before they create significant financial implications.
Efficiency Time is money. A typical crop walk can take up to 11 hours for 1 acre. Drones can fly approximately 160 acres in 30 minutes.
Optimization Generate precise orthomosaic maps that enable better crop planning and land management.

Sam Soybean Sam is a owner-operator between the ages of 4065. He has more than 10 years of experience and values trust-based relationships.
Located: Sam maintains his operation in Obion County in NW Tennessee where over 100,000 acres of soybeans are planted in the county alone.
Size of Operation: Sam operates a 500 acre operation in Obion County where the average farm size is 445 acres.
Issues: Sam is always looking for ways to increase profitability due to the volatility in prices of this commodity. He is constrained by time as the sole operator on his operation.
How we Connect: We met Sam at the Tennessee Soybean Festival last year.
How we best help: Because soybean yields are heavily dependent on rainfall, Sam is interested in our water stress analysis report that will help identify any issues he has with irrigation. Source: UTExtension Institute of Agriculture, 2018; USDA NASS Tennessee County Ag Census
