Magdalene Odundo is one of Britain’s leading artists working in ceramics. For this exhibition, in three parts, the artist explores the potential of using glass in her artistic practice. Transition II is an installation of 1001 handmade glass forms, developed with the support of glass artist James Maskrey, and produced in association with our Hot Glass Studio, Berengo Studio in Murano and Devereux and Huskie Glassworks in Wiltshire. It is inspired by Ancient Egyptian ear studs, the River Nile and the Op Art of Bridget Riley.

Exhibition showcasing 15 digital stories made by a multi-generational group, brought together through their personal connections to glass.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
In collaboration with Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art we present an off-site exhibition at the Priestman Gallery, University of Sunderland. The exhibition extends the thematic concerns of the NGCA exhibition The Decorator and the Thief (...) with a series of newly commissioned works. Using artist-designed wallpaper, sculpture, fabric, writing and film, the artists have been invited to explore the promiscuity between art, design and craft. Priestman Gallery opening times: 09.00 – 6.00 Monday – Friday. Closed on weekends.
