Our Gallery has an exciting programme of changing exhibitions exploring a wide range of themes and highlighting the many ways that artists use glass to create dynamic and diverse works of art. Pupils will participate in gallery activities and discussions, develop designs and make their own unique artwork in glass, inspired by the exhibition.
The North Lands Creative Glass collection includes some of the world’s most highly regarded artists working in glass. Pupils will participate in activities and discussions about artwork from the collection, then create their own piece of glass art, using themes and techniques which complement the focus of the gallery tour.
National Glass Centre is home to the University of Sunderland’s Glass and Ceramics and Art and Design Foundation departments. We can arrange for an introductory session with lecturers from either course to provide an insightful and informative addition to your visit.
