Did you know? News To Know About Windows 7 by Belinda de la Libertad – CEO Computer Gal LLC Are you in the market for new office computers? Do your current computers use Windows XP Professional? If so, it is important to know that as of June 30, 2010, it will no longer be possible to purchase a new computer with Windows XP Professional pre-installed.

VS.

The Impact on Business Owners If your business uses basic, off-the-shelf software (such as Microsoft Office, the latest QuickBooks versions, and other programs that can be bought in any computer store), the impact will be limited. When purchasing a new computer, you will simply have to buy the newest version of Windows, now called Windows 7. Many popular offthe-shelf programs have already been updated to work well with Windows 7. They are "Windows 7-compatible." On the other hand, if your business uses any type of customized software--something that cannot be purchased in any computer store – it will be critical to find out from your software vendor whether there now exists a Windows 7-compatible version of your software. Customized software is often used for inventory tracking, employee management, sales data, customer data, design work, and research. If there does not exist a Windows 7compatible version of your mission-critical software, and you are in the market for a new PC, then you will want to purchase your new computers still loaded with XP Professional BEFORE June 30, 2010. If your custom software has been upgraded to work with Windows 7, then a new computer purchase can be made either immediately or anytime after June 30th. Beginning July 1, all Windows-based computers will be available only with Windows 7. Alternatively, you can also consider moving to Windows 7 and using an entirely new computer software solution as well. Before doing so, be sure that the new software you are considering is Windows 7-compatible and that it meets all of your business needs. For more info contact A-Z TECHS.US

New for 2010: Tax Credit Helps Small Business Employers Provide Health Insurance Coverage Many small businesses and tax-exempt organizations that provide health insurance coverage to their employees now qualify for a special tax credit, according to the Internal Revenue Service. Included in the health care reform legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, approved by Congress and signed by President Obama on March 23, the credit is designed to encourage small business employers to offer health insurance coverage for the first time or maintain coverage they already have. In general, the credit is available to small employers that pay at least half the cost of single coverage for their employees. “This credit provides a real boost to eligible small businesses by helping them afford health coverage for their employees,” said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. “We urge small businesses and tax-exempt employers to look closely at this important tax break — which is already effective — to see if they qualify.” For more information on how you can take advantage of this credit visit www.irs.gov

Taking The Time To Know Her Clients by Sylvia Lopez-Navarro

Members Corner

There are as many styles of photography as there are photographers. Nancy Ramos’ style is one that captures and interprets the world in different ways. For many years, working as a professional photographer, she has come to realize that it is not only about seeing a memory through a silver ring; it is about establishing a relationship with her clients and understanding their needs. After her initial start with film and her ability to purchase her first camera from a local pawn shop, she did not become a photographer over night. Her immediate focus was educating herself on the process. During her studies at Santa Ana College, she found that she needed a new outlet, a new source of inspiration and expression. She found that capturing family moments and weddings satisfied her soul. “I know that my silver eye has done an amazing job, when I have been able to capture the human interaction of an event and have been able to express it through a flash. I take time to know my clients; especially my brides because I must be able to capture their dreams,” says Nancy. It often isn't clear, even to ourselves, why we pursue our art with such passion and sacrifice. For Nancy, it is crystal clear, it is her daughter who continuously helps her explore her motivations and herself. “In her, I find inspiration and motivation,” says Nancy. Nancy Specializes in Wedding , Engagement Photography, Family, Children, Maternity, Birth photography as well as Corporate Events. Nancy also runs a Photographers Club which helps other photographers grow their business, keep up with technology and serve their community. There is no membership fee to join and participate in the classes. Fees are only associated with standard registration and venue cost for outside activities. For more information please contact Nancy Ramos at nancy@silvereyephotography.com or call (714) 932-4015
