In this project I designed a bath house in Copenhagen, Denmark that had an emphasis on the sensory experiences of the user. In the Danish context, sauna and swimming in the summer and winter are a large part of the culture especially due to the harsh climate.

This site for this project was also in Copenhagen on the infamous lakes. The prompt was for a floating housing complex. I took the opportunity to address the steadily increasing population of Copenhagen and the housing shortage that it is creating. The premise of my project is that in our global society, I posit that people will begin to turn more towards mobile living, for example houseboats. The real estate Copenhagen’s expansive waterfronts is underused and is being overlooked as a place to develop housing. I designed a housing tower of modules which users could plug their boat into for a stay of a week to say a month and then continue on their journey.

As mentioned before, I want this housing development (using the term broadly) meant to evolve with the changing needs of Copenhagen. My open ended proposal for this housing development was that it could change its uses as it became relevant. My idea for this short project was that it could become part of a vertical garden or integrated sustainable features into the robust structure.
This project is for a school in Koreatown, Los Angeles. I based my design on the mat scheme typology and began the design process by creating and testing a grid that would work with the necessary program of the school. For this project, I needed to perform structural analysis as well as HVAC and lighting calculations for my design. My objective was to create a scheme where all aspects of the design worked cohesively.

I wanted to create a school where children could be close to nature and sunlight. Studies show that people learn much better in daylight than in purely artificially lit spaces.
