SPORT MANAGEMENT A Powerful Educational Experience Niagara University’s master’s degree program in sport management prepares students for management careers in the exciting and increasingly competitive sport and recreation industry. It is intended for those aspiring to leadership positions in athletic administration, marketing or sport operations working for organizations like the NFL, NHL, MLB, NCAA, MAAC, or for industry heavy-hitters such as Nike, Reebok, New Balance, and New Era Cap (to name a few). The rigorous program will further prepare students for a broad range of sport industry careers through intensive experiential learning and networking opportunities. Students can choose an internship or a thesis track, allowing them to pick the format that mostly closely matches their abilities and goals.

A Cutting-Edge Curriculum The flexible, 36-credit hour graduate program is designed to meet the needs of today’s graduate student, while crafting skilled professionals ready to tackle the industry. The innovative program offers small class sizes, a flexible format, and a blend of sport management courses with broader-based business courses. Students will study many aspects of the industry, including issues and ethics, external relations, legal and regulatory issues, event and facility management, financial management, and will also have opportunities for industry research. The curriculum also places a heavy focus on experiential learning, allowing students to gain practical experience from industry leaders.
