Interdisciplinary studies is a 33-credit hour master of arts program of study that allows students to construct an innovative curriculum by pulling from disciplines that interest them most. With hybrid and fully online options, the program is ideal for recent graduates, mid-career professionals, and nontraditional students with a wide variety of career interests. The greatest strength of MAIS is its flexible curriculum, which offers opportunities for internships, independent studies, and research within a field of study.
Past students have pursued careers in management, education, nonprofit administration, doctoral studies, or advancement within their existing career pathway.

Focus on Social Justice
MAIS students are now able to study social justice through its historical, political, religious, economic, and philosophical dimensions. Examine current issues in social justice from a variety of disciplinary and academic perspectives, including racism, women’s equality, economic inequalities, and diversity in education. A wide selection of courses are offered, such as Race and Ethnicity, Diversity and Social Justice, Black Freedom Movement, and Women’s Studies. For the capstone, students conduct a service project focused on addressing a social justice issue in the community.

Complete MAIS fully online or pick courses on campus as well. With the ability to completely design your own curriculum, MAIS is the right choice to fulfill your interests.
ACCESSIBILITY
Only 33 credits before you earn a master’s degree. Transfer as many as 12 credits from prior graduate work. Earn credit for workrelated experience. Complete within a year or at your own pace as a parttime student.
