1975 Digipak Textual Analysis

Front cover

I have noticed that most front covers on a digipak for the indie rock genre are kept simple with little colour. This helps to catch the right type of audience’s attention as they know what to look out for if they are already a big fan. On the left is the digipaks front cover to the 1975 album. It is simple and eye-catching. The bands name is purposely placed in the center so, it stands out the most, the consumer will look at this first and instantly know who’s album it is. Also the square is an iconic to the band as it is used in most of there music sets as well as on there other album covers. The colour

The Back Cover The black and white colour scheme has followed to the back to keep an on going theme. Like any other digipak the back cover has a track list, it also has the small print at the bottom which gives the consumers extra information. The font has been kept simple in block capitals which is something fans will recognize as the band use this font on all of their albums and on their social media websites like twitter. It is also easy to read. Lastly it has the

Inside of the album The inside panel reveals a black and white image of the band, again the colour scheme from the front and back continues to the inside panel. The picture reflects their personality as laid back as they are all looking quite blunt with their hands in there pockets. The clothing in the image represents the albums genre as its casual for instance, they are all wearing hoodies, jeans and t shirts. This type of clothing fans can relate to as they will most probably wear the same thing day to day. Again the inside panels have been kept minimalistic so that the main focus is on the music. However most indie rock music labels don’t like to feature themselves on the album as they care more about their music being recognized then themselves.
