What’s Been & What’s Coming up … Tuesday last (21st Jan) the church throughout the world celebrated the feast of St. Agnes—patron of our sister parish in our Pastoral Area in Crumlin Village. We wish the staff and parishioners best wishes and blessings. Saturday (25th Jan) we marked the feast of the Conversion of St. Paul—often called the thirteenth apostle. He played an important part in the spread of the Gospel and the growth of the church through his missionary journeys. It was as a result of these that today we have the many ‘letters’ of St. Paul. Wednesday 29th Jan @ 7.30 pm [Parish Centre] is the first night of our short course on the bible/scripture. Looking Ahead... How many times do we ask ‘Where is the time going?’ and here I am looking ahead into the future. This coming month of February has some dates worth noting for ‘your diary’. Saturday 1st February we celebrate St. Brigid’s Day—the secondary Patron Saint of Ireland. The 2nd February is the feast of The Presentation of The Lord & World Day for Consecrated Life. Monday 3rd February marks the feast of St. Blaise. Then on the 13th February we celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 11am with the boys & girls from 6th class, along with their families and school communities. As you will know by now the Archbishop will be with us for this very important celebration in the faith life of our parish. I look forward to seeing you joining us that morning to welcome the Archbishop and to celebrate with us. Slán Fr. Melvyn

The Lighter Side

“I hope you didn’t take it personally, Fr. Jack”, an embarrassed woman said after mass, “when my husband walked out during your sermon”. I did find it rather disconcerting, he replied. Oh Father, it’s not a reflection on you, insisted the church goer, “Jim has been walking in his sleep ever since he was a child”.
