HEALING CLOSURE DELIVERENCE

Oxtails

Ingredients *Two 750-ml. bottles dry red wine * 12 large oxtail pieces (about 6 pounds total) * 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter * 5 shallots * 5 garlic cloves * 2 medium carrots * 2 medium leeks (white parts only) * 1 medium onion * 2 celery ribs * 3 fresh thyme sprigs * 3 bay leaves * 1 bunch parsley stems * about 4 cups beef broth

Preparation Preheat oven to 325°F In a 4- to 6-quart heavy saucepan boil wine until reduced by about half (about 3 1/4 cups). Trim oxtails and pat dry. Season oxtails with salt and pepper. In a deep heavy ovenproof kettle just large enough to hold oxtails in one layer heat 1 tablespoon butter over moderately high heat until foam subsides and brown half of oxtails on all sides, transferring to a bowl. Brown remaining oxtails in 1 tablespoon butter in same manner and transfer to bowl. Coarsely chop shallots, garlic, carrots, leeks, onion, and celery. Add vegetables to kettle and cook in 1 tablespoon butter over moderately low heat, stirring, until softened. Arrange oxtails over vegetables and add reduced wine, herbs, and enough broth to just cover oxtails. Bring liquid to a boil and braise oxtails, covered, in middle of oven 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until meat is very tender but not falling off the bone. Transfer oxtails with a slotted spoon to a bowl and keep warm. Pour braising liquid through a fine sieve into a large saucepan and discard solids. Boil liquid until thick, shiny, and reduced to about 1 3/4 cups and whisk in remaining tablespoon butter.

MILLENNIAL

THE ENCOURAGER

PHOTO PROVIDED

Hi there! I’d like this first message to be about the purpose of this Millennial Corner. My name is Naomi Esther Johnson and I am a daughter of the Living King :) I like to say that because for years, I struggled heavily with my identity. I am half Hispanic and half African American, but as I grew up, I never felt accepted in either group. I was extremely shy, quiet, and a bookworm. I’m the only “mixed” one in the family as all three of my older brothers were born in Panama (the country, not the city.) I was a major tomboy and hated anything girly. Now that I’m 23, I see that all of the things I saw as a disadvantage, God has either used it, or shifted it. So now, allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Naomi Esther Johnson. I am a young woman who love Jesus

young woman who loves Jesus and is on a mission to share the love that He’s shown me. You may be wondering, what parts of me did He use and what parts did He shift, right? Well, I’m glad you asked! Because I’ve grown up in a multicultural household, I have encountered so many people from different walks of life. God has gifted me with the ability to maneuver and connect with people who don’t look, or sound like me. That shy, quiet, bookworm, God shifted and turned into an author. Because of the experiences I’ve had in life (good and bad), I’ve learned so much and I just wouldn’t be me if I didn’t share those lessons with others. So, that’s what my books are about. Struggles I’ve had with identify, fear, anxiety, depression, overdrinking, U C M A G A Z I N E & R A D I O - J U LY 2 0 2 0

pornography, etc. And yes, I did say that last one. We’ll get to that topic another day! You’ll soon learn that I’m pretty transparent, but it’s because I don’t see how God can get the glory out of our stories if we only share the parts that don’t “seem so bad.” So, if you’ve made it this far in this message, I hope you know that your story is significant. YOU are significant. Don’t be afraid of what you’ve been through, because God is going to use it in some way. Even the nasty parts you don’t want to tell anyone. His word says that He works ALL things for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Until next time, Nai

Marriage Unmasked By Apostle Johnnie & Toni Foster

We have learned The spouse can rekindle the fire of what has been lost by having date nights. Have dinner with one another and leave the kids at home or with a babysitter. When you get home continue the intimate time with your spouse. Wear some lingerie, lay some rose pedals on the bed, and put on some romantic music to spruce up the atmosphere. Where there is financial hardships, put yourselves on a budget or get a job to help lighten the burden on your spouse. We have found many wives complain about their bills, but many never want to help pull the load.

There is a Balm in Gilead who wants to reseal the bond that was broken. To reseal means to close something tightly so that nothing can get in. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3 When there is nothing missing, lacking or broken in your marriage, it will remain unbreakable. What are some things that cause disruption? Below are a few we have come across. Infidelity-when one strays outside of the marriage by committing adultery whether physical or emotional cheating. Lack of Communication- Communication is a type of intimacy in a marriage. It brings a comfort in knowing your spouse is into you and embraces the time spent together. It is a form of love being expressed from one to another. Financial hardships- Sometimes things happen in a marriage that causes a financial hardship on your spouse. This can cause an emotion strain as well as heated exchanges with one another. Social distancing- Maybe your spouse works many hours throughout the day and can’t spend time with you. This can cause a lack of connection andintimacy suffers within the marriage.

Unbreakable Bonds

BY APOSTLE JOHNNIE FOSTER

When glue is used to repair something, depending on the type of glue, it can’t become undone. This is the same with a God ordained marriage. When there is a strong foundation, it is not easily shaken. Many things can come against your marriage, but are you willing to stay the course? Are you willing to try and try and try again? Are you willing to forgive and forget the hurts, betrayals and adultery from the past? If you can answer yes, then your marriage has the opportunity to heal and be restored.

Marriage is teamwork! If you want out of a situation, try doing something different to help the household. This will help keep the spouse from working two jobs which takes time away from spending time together. This will not help a marriage, but cripple your relationship due to a lack of seeing one another. But we have good news!!!

PHOTOS PROVIDED

When two become one in a marriage ordained by God the bond is unbreakable. Many times in Kingdom relationships and in worldly marriages, the idea of marriage is to spend the rest of your life with your spouse; until death do you part. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. Something happened along the way. Something caused a disruption in the plans of God pertaining to the bond. A bond is defined as an agreement with legal force or a thing used to tie something or to fasten things together.
