THE GENIUS-VENUS BASKET FLOWER (EUPLECTELLA ASPERGILLIUM)
The site nestles in the urban areas of the urban area in Singapore,Newton. As shown, the site is heavily forested in the heart of urbanisation in the region. In the region. In this day and age, there is a social situation of enclaves formed throughout the area;leaving people integrated from one another.

PROGRAM:
COMMUNAL RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE IN URBAN CONTEXT REGION OF NEWTON,SINGAPORE The programme of the architecture is heavily inspired by the wisdom of the venus basket flower that has a symbiotic relationship with shrimp. The architecture bring out a unique spatial experience through spaces translated from word of different events sequentially in one’s life:Transience, one hit wonder, uncertainty, familiarity and union when one embarks on a journey to find his significant other.

THE VILLAGER AND THE DWELLING OF MAGIC THE WALKING MOSQUE
ACADEMIC YEAR 2018 STUDIO SA3/LEE WEOI MIN & ALVIN The Walking Mosque is about formulating a new design through the character. My proposed architecture is located at Kinta Road,Singapore for an imam who prays in the open.I learnt how to create spaces through the observation of people’s behaviour.

THE ANATOMY OF ARCHITECTURE THE VILLAGER AND THE DWELLING OF MAGIC
The project is about formulating a new design of a dwelling thinking through the persona of a person that is attached to the site.I proposed a dwelling unit for a muslim man that is an Imam at Kinta Road based on the how he attracts fellow muslim to an open area to pray together. A plan view of Kinta Road and the surrounding nature of the site.
The Walking Mosque layer describes that circulation of the Imam of the site. When the imam is absent at the site before prayer timing, there are no muslims. When the imam is present,a group of muslims follow the imam to pray.
A curved profile brings a different experience of levelling.

The program for the architecture is a multi purpose communal area.During prayer timings the architecture serves as a place of worship for Muslims. The undulating surface gives an impression to visitors that one must go on a journey to find enlightenment which is the Imam. After prayer timings, the space transforms back into its orginal form:a communal area that is free for all to use.The domes serves as a home for the Imam and also make the architecture accoustically enhanced.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2018 COMPEITITION/NICHOLAS,MABEL,SIEW HUI,JOHN,ALPHONSIUS,JUSTIN,YONG KIT&WATI The project site is at Serangoon Central,Singapore. The Project is to develop a community hub that integrates both the sliver and the young generation. My team took inspiration of the history of Serangoon as part of the process in weaving the 2 generations together.

URA CUBE URBAN PLANNING SERANGOON CENTRAL,SINGAPORE
The site is at Serangoon Central,Singapore. The project is to develop a community hub that can potentially serve as a new heart for the serangoon central precint,to preserve the identity of serangoon and so as to bridge the gap between the silver and the young generation. The title of this project is called a weaver’s confluence. We envision the scheme to be one that heavily involves the roots of Serangoon;where the rangoon bird used to inhabit the area of Serangoon. With that,my team incorporates this concept for the architecture and the connectivity of the scheme.

CONCEPT FINDING A WEAVER’S CONFLUENCE A Conversation of Living,Dreaming and Giving
My team and I decided to brainstorm for possible ideas through collaging. We discovered the main concepts that we intend to use in our scheme;dignity kitchen as it holds great significant value to the present reality of Serangoon Gardens.

DESIGN + ZONING
Based on the collage my team has done,we did the first zoning plan which served as a base for the following versions of the zoning plan. Draft Zoning Plan
Final Zoning Plan
For the final zoning plan,we incorporated the respective proposed spaces;a town council, car theatre, residential blocks & a soup kitchen.
