Overview: We are very pleased to announce...

The event is jointly organized by:

the 5th edition of the Mauritius Ocean Classic, a race which forms part of the Ocean Paddler World Surf Ski Series. This race has already established itself as one of the best downwind courses in the World Series and also as a fantastic week of surf skiing which should not be missed by all paddlers!

Programme: Programme and planning of the week, race dates, race format and timing can be adjusted according to local coastal weather forecasts and conditions. Our aim is to allow the paddlers to take full advantage of the best weather conditions!

Finish will be at Le Morne (Le Morne Channel will be avoided in the case of large and dangerous swell conditions and entrance to Le Morne would then be moved to the next pass called “Ambulant”) Lunch At EmbaFilao, Le Morne, after the race and Prize Giving Ceremony 18h30 Entertainment followed by Dinner together! End of the 2013 Surfski Week in Mauritius!


Race Registration RACE ENTRY FEE AND SKI RENTAL All competitors are required to: • Complete a Race Entry & Ski Rental Form • Pay the Race Entry Fee - Ski Rental Fee The last date for submitting the Race Entry & Ski Rental Form is the 15th of April 2013. Race Entry Fee (includes Ski Rental): • USD 250 • USD 230 for participants staying at Tamassa or any other LUX* Resorts • ( USD10 from the above amount will go to the “Paddle for the Planet Project”) Entry Fee also includes participation in FTL Sporty’s Race, downwind runs, coaching sessions, ski hire and transport to and from starts and finishes. Payment of Fees: Cash in USD to JPH Boathouses Services upon ski collection at Tamassa resort (exact amount to be submitted) The race committee reserves the right to stop any paddler not registered, from starting the race.

Accommodation Accommodation will be at Tamassa (4 Star) the event’s hotel partner Situated at Bel Ombre, in the south of Mauritius, Tamassa is a spacious 4-star hotel with a resolutely contemporary setting for a clientele looking for a difference. All the rooms, housed in a set of villas, face the sea and are arranged in three arcs, two around large swimming pools with a beach and the third one on the seafront. Around the hotel’s main swimming pool, the “Show” restaurant, the “B-Bar” and the boutique are grouped together in a village style, where each component is ideally placed. The view extends from the mountains through the lush sugar cane fields, to end up across an azure lagoon towards the horizon.

Tamassa (4 Star)

SHUTTLE SCHEDULES DOWNWIND RUNS AND RACES (FOR LUX* RESORTS RESIDENTS ONLY) Downwind runs: shuttles are organized from Tamassa to Emba Filao Le Morne (for accompanying persons who want to join paddlers) and back to Tamassa. Surf skis will be transferred back to Tamassa by trailers. On Race day Mauritius Ocean Classic departure from Tamassa at 09h30 (sharp) to race start and back from Le Morne after prize giving to Tamassa at 15h00 (flexible). For accompanying persons the shuttle will depart from Tamassa at 11h00 to Le Morne on the finish site. Surf skis will be transferred to race start and back to Tamassa after the race by trailers.
