Day 01, 14 NOVEMBER 2011 BLED Upon arrival to the airport, transfer on your own to hotel in Bled. The rest of the day at leisure. Dinner in hotel. (D)
Day 02, 15 NOVEMBER 2011 BLED- BOHINJ – RADOVLJICA Breakfast in hotel A sightseeing tour of Bled features the charming town with the lakeshore, and imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. You will also have the possibility to take a boat ride to the island in the lake of Bled, visit the baroque church and toll the bell. Then continue to the other alpine beauty – the Bohinj Lake. The route will take you to Stara Fuzina where you will visit the Sheppard’s museum and taste the best Slovenian cheese. Free time in Bohinj until your return to Bled. In the evening travel to Radovljica and take a walk through this picturesque town until dinner with typical Slovenian cuisine and the visit of the Lectar Museum. (B,D)
Day 03, 16 NOVEMBER 2011 KRANJSKA GORA –KOBARID – NOVA GORICA Breakfast in hotel After breakfast travel to Kranjska Gora, the idyllic mountain resort under the Julian Alps. Continue to Bovec. Enjoy lunch in Bovec and taste a local special dessert – the Bovec pockets. After lunch continue to Koarid and visit world famous World War I museum. Continue to Nova Gorica for overnight. Evening at leisure for the visit of hotel casinos in the city centre. (B,L)
Day 04, 17 NOVEMBER 2011 GORIŠKA BRDA REGION Breakfast in hotel After breakfast travel to Goriška Brda, the biggest and the best wine-growing region of western Slovenia. Full day dedicated to the secrets of this hilly region. First stop at the towns of Gonjače and Šmartno. Enjoy lunch with wine tasting at a local tourist farm. Return to Nova Gorica for overnight. Day 05, 18 NOVEMBER 2011 THE KARST REGION WITH ŠTANJEL AND LIPICA Breakfast in hotel In the morning departure from Nova Gorica and travel to the charming medieval town of Štanjel. The region of Karst is know for its dark wine Teran and Karst cold cuts- among which the most famous is the Karst prosciutto. Tasting at one of the famous local wine producer. Continue to the Lipica stud and visit the stables. Continue to Piran and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant by the sea. (B,WT, D)
Day 06, 19 NOVEMBER 2011 PIRAN – ŠMARJE – POMJAN - PIRAN Breakfast in hotel In the morning visit the picturesque town of Piran, known as the birth place of the famous composer and violinist Guiseppe Tarini. Then travel to Sečovlje and visit the salt pans where the salt has been harvested for more than 400 years. Visit an local wine cellar. We will end our day in the medieval town of Pomjan with a short walk through the town and enjoy a typical dinner of Slovenian Istra. Return to Piran for overnight. (B, WT, D)
Day 07, 20 NOVEMBER 2011 PIRAN – POSTOJNA – LJUBLJANA Breakfast in hotel Morning at leisure in Piran until departure for Postojna. After lunch in a local tourist farm visit the Postojna caves, one of the biggest and the most impressing caves in Europe. After the visit of the caves, we’ll stop also at the Predjama castle before arrival to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The rest of the day at leisure in Ljubljana. (B,L)
Day 08, 21 NOVEMBER 2011 LJUBLJANA Breakfast in hotel In the morning enjoy a walking tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Visit the most significant sights of the old city centre: the picturesque Central open-air Market and the Three Bridges, both designed by famous architect Joze Plecnik, the Baroque Town Hall and the Robba’s Fountain. Lunch in local restaurant. Afternoon free. (B, L)
Day 09, 22 NOVEMBER 2011 LJUBLJANA – MARIBOR – PTUJ
Breakfast in hotel Travel to Maribor and enjoy a short walking tour of the city. After lunch in a local restaurant visit the Maribor tunnel wine cellar which is one of the greatest wine cellars in Europe and is located in the centre of the city. Continue to Ptuj for short walking tour of the city and overnight. (B, L)
Day 10, 23 NOVEMBER 2011 THE PREKMURJE REGION Breakfast in hotel After breakfast travel to Prekmurje, the north-eastern flat part of Slovenia. Enjoy lunch in a typical restaurant. The tour of the region will include the visit of the miles on the Mura River, of a typical local pottery and some other ethnological attractions of Prekmurje. (B, L)
Day 11, 24 NOVEMBER 2011 PTUJ – ROGATEC – OLIMJE - BIZELJSKO – ČATEŽ
Breakfast in hotel In the morning travel to Rogatec and visit the open air heritage museum before coming to Olimije and visit one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. Enjoy lunch at a local wine producer before going on to the wine-growing area of Bizeljsko. End your day with tasting of sparkling wines at the famous producer of the region. (B, L, WT)
