I founded Jenman African Safaris in 1993 – with one vehicle and myself as the guide running walking safaris in the lower Zambezi, Mana Pools. Since then Jenman Safaris has expanded into 14 African countries, we have employed many more staff, and today most of our partners know me personally around the globe. Travel in Africa has always been a passion of mine, and I am lucky to be able to combine my personal interest with my work life. Nevertheless, my team and I never forget that we are arranging your holiday – often a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you have been looking forward to, for years in some cases. This is why our company slogan is; Africa - Your Adventure, Our Expertise. Every season the positive feedback from our clients and agents around the world overwhelms me and motivates all of us at Jenman to carry on, setting Jenman Safaris’ quality standards higher each year. Today, we are not only offering affordable solutions for your once-in-a-lifetime Africa experience, but operate lodge safaris, custom-made private safaris and most other travel related arrangements in Southern Africa, East Africa & Madagascar. I look forward to many more years of welcoming you on an African experience you will never forget.

For almost two decades, we at Jenman Safaris have focused on developing our core business: offering a variety of exciting, high-quality, diverse and interesting safari trips across Southern and East Africa. Over the years, we have developed our own brand of responsible and sustainable tourism, making it a priority for us to maintain and nurture the natural environment that makes Africa such a remarkable destination. We also understand that we don’t live or work in a bubble; that caring for the environment needs to be taught, and that new generations of young Africans must learn to respect and care for the environment as we do. As a result, Jenman Safaris is now branching out into Educational DayTrips. These day-trips will be offered to local students up and around Table Mountain National Park, with a focus on environmental care and sustainability. Our day-trips will be guided by our experienced field guides, with food, supplies, equipment and park fees, all funded by us. The students will be primarily of disadvantaged backgrounds – this means that most of the kids who come on our trips have had little or no previous access to this kind of experience before. They will be chosen from one of our local township schools, and by teachers who deem them eligible (they will begin and end the tour at their school). By taking a group of students to Table Mountain National Park, our aim is to show them the beautiful variety of flora and fauna of South Africa, and to teach them the importance of maintaining it for years to come. Our guides will discuss the environmental issues that impact the growth of local vegetation, and how we all play a part in taking care of indigenous plant-life, a necessary part of our African heritage. We at Jenman have become committed to social change in Africa, however small these changes may be. A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS WITH ONE STEP.
Jenman Safaris staff shed their clothes to help save the rhino! At the time this brochure goes to print (April 2012), 181 rhinos have been poached in South Africa. This is more than 1 rhino per day. Appalling news - these tragic numbers put us on track to see some of the greatest losses of the animals in South African history, surpassing last year’s record number, a barbaric 448 poached rhinos. According to acclaimed rhino scientists, if poaching continues at its current rate South Africa’s rhino herd will go into population decline by mid-2012. Jenman African Safaris decided to take some action and do something different to support the fight against rhino poaching! The brave and wildly attractive staff at Jenman Safaris decided to shed their clothes - and inhibitions - for a new approach to rhino conservation with their first ever semi-nude body art, photographic 2013 calendar... It’s sexy, it’s tasteful, and it helps to save our rhinos! The funds are donated to the African Conservation Trust / Project Africa / Save the Rhino for muchneeded support to fight against rhino poaching.
