Colours of the day Le Touessrok
Le Touessrok sets light to the heart. A chic fusion of timber, thatch and cool white walls on Trou d’Eau Douce bay, the east coast of Mauritius. Gentle green gardens are brightened by blooms of bougainvillea. Calm blue pools and white-sand beaches are shaded by graceful palms. Play the smooth emerald of the immaculate island Golf Course. Clamber the black outcrops of volcanic rock on the resort’s castaway retreat. Beyond the islands, the reef catches the ocean to calm the azure waters of the bay. Shade dapples purple on a sea-view terrace. Candlelight flickers gold on a beachside dinner. The soft pink stirrings of dawn; the deep violets of sundown. These are the colours of the day, touches of Mauritian magic that live in every tomorrow.
White The deep soft towels that wrap you dry, the frangipani flowers that float the pool, the boats that whisk you to the islands, the very sand between your toes.
Red The little sun-bed flag that says leave-me-be, the cool glass of deep rosĂŠ, showy dramas of hibiscus flowers, glinting darts of dragonflies.
Orange Saffron weaves on your suite recliner, birdcage lamps under the banyan tree, just-caught sea urchins served beachside on Ilot MangĂŠnie.
Yellow A flicker of candlelight on your shoreline table, a glass of Mauritius spiced gold rum, shoals of Tang fish on the coral reef, and up there the sun.
Green Huge banana leaves waving their welcomes, lime anthuriums weaving up columns, Ile aux Cerfs putting greens of manicured salam seashore paspalum.
Blue The Natural Ceylon sapphire on her ring, the startling azures of the clear lagoon, the pool that laps the Sega Bar, the horizon that touches the ocean.
Indigo The darker sea beyond the reef, a tye-dyed silk sarong après swim by the shore, a Mexican Berries smoothy on Frangipani beach.
Violet Sunset lights of the evening sky, the bowl of sweet grapes in your suite, bougainvillea petals strewn on the turned down bed.
Black Sushi wraps of Nori seaweed, little snaps of espresso Arabica, then cast-iron lanterns light your way, under deep night skies jewelled with stars.
