The Event – 3rd Edition Marlin Masters is a beautiful annual Tag & Released fishing tournament which takes place in Mauritius, on the west and south west coast of the Island, in front of Le Morne and Black River: the best spots for deep sea fishing in Mauritius and among the best in the world! The Event is being organized by dedicated, passionate and professional fishermen in synergy with one of the regional leading hotel group in the Indian Ocean, Naïade Resorts. Marlin Masters is an International Game Fish Association Offshore World Championship Qualifying tournament: the 2010 winning team will participate in the IGFA 2011 Championship!

Fishing Boats Marlin Masters Mauritius makes available to participants the best and fully equipped boats on the Island. Among them are the Moana fleet with top class 42 feet long boats (beam 13 feet) powered by twin Caterpillar V8 210 HP.

Tournament’s Rules and Regulations – fishing days The tournament will be governed by IGFA Rules. Teams There must be a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 Anglers per team. A Team Captain must be appointed for each team. Each team will participate in boat draws for each of the 5 days fishing. Spare boats will be provided in case of breakdown. Fishing Fishing days (depending weather conditions) have been fixed as follows: 9 9 9 9 9

Day one / 30.11.10: starts at 06h45 / lines out at 16h00 Day two / 01.12.10: starts at 06h45 / lines out at 16h00 Day three / 03.12.10: starts at 06h30 / lines out at 16h00 Day four / 04.12.10: starts at 08h00 / lines out at 16h00 Day five / 05.12.10: starts at 08h00 / lines out at 16h00

Note on tide: as New Moon is on 05.12.10, the tide which will prevail all along the above week will be excellent for Marlin fishing. Every fishing day, all lines must be out of the water at the time mentioned above. Should a fish be hooked after lines out time the entire catch of the day will be disqualified. If a fish is hooked and reported on the radio before lines out time, no penalty will be imposed. However, the team must be back at the club's jetty by midnight otherwise the entire catch of the day will be disqualified. On the last day of fishing all teams must be back at the Club's jetty by 17h00 otherwise the entire catch of the day will be disqualified. Notice - bad weather conditions and exceptional situations: The Organising Committee can change, modify and/or cancel fishing dates in case of bad weather conditions resulting from cyclones, cyclone alert, strong winds, tidal wave, rough seas, flooding and any other natural disaster or exceptional situations beyond it’s control, occurring during period 30.11.10 to 05.12.10 or prior to this period. Line Test Line class allowed: 80 lb and 50 lb. No point will be awarded for any fish caught on any other line class. Anglers are allowed to bring their own equipments. Radio report - strikes All strikes must be reported on the Club’s Radio giving: Fish species if known / Zone in which the fish has been hooked Name of angler / Line class Weigh in Team captains must report to the Weigh Master after docking, with their completed and signed fish score cards. A signed "Nil" card must be submitted even if no fish was caught or released.

A fish will be considered released and will be eligible for points as soon as the leader is in hand and the fish released. Payment terms: ¾ At latest 15.11.10 ¾ 5% discount for payment prior to 30.10.10 The number of Teams entering the tournament will be limited. The above fees exclude accommodation and air transfers but include local VAT. Notice - bad weather conditions and exceptional situations: The Organising Committee can change, modify and/or cancel fishing dates in case of bad weather conditions resulting from cyclones, cyclone alert, strong winds, tidal wave, rough seas, flooding and any other natural disaster or exceptional situations beyond it’s control, occurring during period 30.11.10 to 05.12.10 or prior to this period. In this situation fishing will be invoiced per day and balance overpaid will be refunded. The Organising Committee will also consider, without any guarantee and or commitment, a possible extension of the Tournament dates up to 06.12.10 maximum, depending boat availability, in order to try to catch up fishing dates which have been cancelled. All additional costs for extension of accommodation (depending rooms availability) and/or resulting from air tickets modification, will be for the client’s account. Hotel and Air Ticket costs will however not be refunded in all cases mentioned above.
