Your expedition in detail‌ Day 1, Johannesburg to Sabi Sands Game Reserve Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met by your Oryx photographic leader Greg du Toit and transfer to the nearby Federal Airport for your scheduled charter flight to the world famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve. After check in and lunch we will depart on our first afternoon game drive. The Sabi Sand Reserve is the birthplace of sustainable wildlife tourism in Southern Africa, and is the oldest private reserve in South Africa. It has only ever been a wilderness area and is home to a vast wildlife population. Overnight Leopard Hills Days 2 to 5, Sabi Sand Game Reserve The Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve forms part of the exclusive selection of private game reserves that border the unfenced western edge of the Kruger National Park. Because there are no fences between Kruger and Sabi Sand, the animals can wander between the two as they please and as they once did across vast stretches of grazing land. Some of the best private game lodges in South Africa are in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the chances of seeing and photographing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) are certainly the best anywhere. This 55,000-hectare reserve offers you an opportunity to view, at very close quarters, the untamed African Call an Africa Safari Expert | Australian Reservations Phone : 1300 362 166 | Email : sales@aboveandbeyondholidays.com.au Visit : www.aboveandbeyondholidays.com.au

bush and all its indigenous wildlife. Anyone who has visited the Sabi Sand knows that leopards are one of the main attractions here. In fact, these cats are so accustomed to the African safari vehicles that they hardly take any notice of them. Even when hunting, a leopard in the Sabi Sand does not seem to mind a vehicle following it, even if this means following it off-road though the bush. Leopard Hills traverses over 10,000 hectares of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park ecosystem. Each day can be different as one explores the endless fascination of Africa's wildlife. Built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole and close to the perennial Sand River lives right up to its name and is perfect for a South African Safari. From your hilltop sanctuary, you may be lucky to catch sight of a leopard on the hunt, a breeding herd of elephants or a few gracious kudu. True to the South African Safari experience, many species of antelope pass by within view of the lodge while in the reserve, Africa's big game abounds. The lodge has eight luxury ensuite chalets with a private deck, pool and a separate sitting room. The chalets also have an outdoor shower for a genuine nature experience. Leopard Hills’s main lodge has a bar overlooking a watering hole, as well as a large deck offering guests a different game viewing experience while relaxing over a drink in comfortable chairs. A new addition to Leopard Hills, the treatment sala and gym have proved very popular among guests. What better way to work up a sweat on the various gym machines, while looking over the bush below, or enjoy an array of massage treatments in the glass-fronted sala, which has a spectacular vantage point off the main pool deck, offering absolute privacy and spectacular views. Day 6: Sabi Sand Game to Timbavati Game Reserve After a final morning’s game drive and another scrumptious breakfast, you depart the final leg of our expedition, the Timbavati Game. The Timbavati is part of the greater Kruger National Park conservation area, which covers a phenomenal 2.2 million hectares! Kings Camp is situated right in the heart of this mega–national park and offers a wealth of biodiversity and photographic opportunities as a consequence. Day 7 to 10: Timbavati Game Reserve Situated in the world famous Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, the camp is a gameviewing and wildlife photographic haven, with our main photographic targets here being Africa’s legendary “Big 5”. Numerous territorial Leopards call Kings Camp home, as well as several prides of magnificent Lions. African Buffalo and African Elephant congregate in huge numbers here and we expect to see and photograph these giants at very close range. We also have the opportunity to view and photograph the increasingly endangered White Rhino and, if we are extremely fortunate, perhaps even a roaming pack of African Wild Dogs. Two individual packs of these mythical predators move in from the neighbouring Kruger NP on occasion and our local guide and tracker will most certainly follow any fresh tracks and signs that we might happen to come across.

However, the Timbavati promises far more than just a good game-viewing destination: with access to 100 square kilometers of shared wilderness, guests are also treated to a brilliant abundance of beautiful birdlife. We will explore this “Big 5 country in open Land Rovers in the mornings as well as in the afternoons in our quest to find and photograph our numerous photographic targets. Kings Camp is exceptionally proud of its viewing deck, which overlooks an open savanna with a watering hole. Guests can safely soak up the stillness and serenity of the bush while keeping a sharp lookout for passing animals and birds. Alternatively, a dip in the swimming pool is maybe a better option for some. The spacious dining room offers stunning views of the bushveld, while enjoying the sumptuous meals offered at Kings Camp. The lodge offers eleven generously spaced, thatched colonial suites, luxuriously equipped with romantic soft cascading mosquito nets, remote controlled airconditioning, tea and coffee facilities, Victorian ball-andclaw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah with hammock.
