This scheme seeks to challenge the typical spatial organization in a sports center. Instead of being centralized, the servant programs (bathroom, changing room, lockers, lounge) are distributed on the periphery and attached onto the walls as pockets. In contrast, large platforms serving for different activities extrude out from the walls, which allow visual connections and public interaction. The courtyard on the ground level, where bars and restaurants locate, generate a pathway for the convenience of neighborhood.

--In Hong Kong, podium tower has become a dominent building typology due to the rocketing land prices. --Usually, “Podium” and “Tower” are separated by a solid “transfer plate” which seriously blocks the interaction of the two parts, structurally as well as programatically. --A dissolving tower, is proposed to challenge the typical prototype of podium tower (see statement) from the aspects of structure, program and urbanism.

--Giant columns grow up from the lower levels, bifurcate into pairs of load-bearing walls that form the basic cubicals at the higher level. --Each individual structure bifurcates at certain height to respond to the existing urban conditions.
Profile: 960 sq.m footprint, 60% site coverage, height 150m

Structure: Column system-Hybird-Wall system
Neighbors: Set-back for natural lighting
Street View: Visual quality for pedestrian and drivers
13
--The tower consists of column-beam system ( open, flexible) at the lower levels, shear wall system ( private, stable) at the higher levels and a transitioning part in the middle with additional trusses and tie-beams.
--Public areas flow upward along the structure and participate in the residential area as “in-between” spaces that can be either privately-utilized or shared.
--The transformation of structure aims to respond to the different functions, circulation and density required in the verticality. --Innovation on unit design can be found from various double-height “Gap” space. It plays an active role in illumination and ventilation while generating special experiences for residents.
14
15
--The transforming structure should not be blocked by floor slabs. Thus, atriums are designed for people to appreciate the structure. --The beautiful structures are exposed to people, becoming the highlight of interior space. Lively public areas are achieved with the involvement of structures.

Through a series of section cuts, to decipher the ordering systems of the bud and reveal the changes of its petals.
By disassembling the dragonfly kite, I looked into the complexity of manufacture process and created the story of construction.

HAND-MADE COLLAGE “Continuous Monument in 2013” In 1969, Superstudio created “Continuous Monument” series as a criticism to the consumerism culture, warning the dangers of a world rendered uniform by technology, wiping out traces of local diversity. To some extent, Superstudio’s prophesy became reality – consumerism, and more importantly, globalization, is dominating the world. The “Continuous Monument” is re-created in the version of 2013.

RESEARCH Urban Analysis Kwan Tung Town Center, 2011 Instructor: Debra T.M.Cheung
Research of “Miao” Minority Tribe with Tsinghua University, THAD Summer 2013
This analysis is a re-interpretation of “Field Conditions”. Urban conditions are considered to be a result of interaction of fields.
The objective of the research is to look into the social and cultural transformation by collecting and analysing colors from materials, houses to the villages.
“Unifying diverse elements while respecting the identity of each”
