MADE IN CHINA

Made in China

The first project is to analyze an everydays object and perceive it from a uniquely architectural perspective, which contain structure, scale and materials. The section drawing is a basic tool to study the objects. then concept were developed to explore the interaction between the body and the environment.

The dragonfly kite is characterize by its elegant structure and material. Fabric, wooden frame, steel wires and rubberband composite in a specific order. Wooden frame were marked in different colors according to its order to analyze body parts in a organized way.

By disassempling of the kite, I explored the manufacture process and create the story of construction.

BODY MAP

Body Map

For this project, we use the surface of our bodies as sites to explore how to present threedimensional space in twodimentional form. Our skin is a dynamic landscape that is completely three-dimentional. A specific movement of human body is also required. A pair of two work together to map the body and movement.

Use a series of wires to illustrate the space enclosured by two arms. The density and tightness of the wires reveal the deformation of the space

WEATHERPROOF

Weatherproof

Taking the previous project "body map" as a site, design a secondary "skin" out of paper module. The structure and layer help to negotiate between the body surface and external environment, also adapt to the movement of the body. Experiment the process from human body analysis to shelter design.
