Introduction And when I was a kid, I always wondered: what do I want to be when I grow up? I remember telling my parents with emotion that I liked the magic, that I wanted to be a migician, that I wanted to fly like they did, that I wanted to disappear things like they did and to make float things as they did in the shows. It was mi biggest illution. I was a faithful admirer of one of the most important magicians of that time and I did not get lost any of his spectacles, -by tv off course-. David Copperfield, he was the famous magician who I admired tha most and who I really wanted to be like. He was that person that I wanted to become in. This was mi ideal of life when I was just 6 years old. The time was passing and tha interests were changing too. I discovered that all these beautiful tricks that were making me medazzled and the tricks that I beleived in, were just tricks. In fact, I realized that they were only a intense illusion for the spectator so he could beleive that everything that was happening, was real. I left aside the idea of being a big magician. I beleived in another life ideal: soccer. The soccer had come to my life. I watched myself in the courts noting down goals, being always number one and traveling around the world, feeling happy with al the people watching me. As a kid, I loved watching movies and cartoon characters and so, I liked to collect and play with action picture cards. Besides of that, I was born to enjoy superheroes.
By that time, Batman, Superman, Wonder woman already existe, but, the characters that woke up my deepr interest to begin drawing them were Teen mutant ninja turtles, Bikers Mars Mice and The Mask between others. The hour of the truth came faster than I expected. Now, everyone was wondering about the same question that I kept asking to myself: What do I want to be when I grow up? I decided to look for my future and study graphic design to focus in creating personages and stages- both of them were the things that really get me excited-. That´s why I create personages and universes, which are translated into a paper or a screen that only imagination can give to me.
history of
Marmor While working, while resting a little for a long working hours, I took a little paper and a pen that I used. I started thinking about releasing a character, someone innocently, who did not know the world and to know him through his experience. I remembered how important it was for me to have read the Little Prince and the softness of his gestures in each picture. Then I thought of someone who could travel, that is the reason of the pilot cap, I thought also in the eye color, the color of her hair even though it was a drawing, black and white sketch. His tattered and worn clothes, was the only one he had and broken and worn by all the trips he had done and thought of a traveling companion, a dog who may share the same innocence that he had. The scenarios and traffic places were a little harder to think, then although most influence is in the Little prince, I did not want a copy so I decided that it would not be traveling interplanetary better a interdimensional, I called in this way because it is always located on the same planet but can jump and travel between dimensions. Thus it was born MarmoR, a child who turns his history in the same planet, including dimensions, seeking the reason for the destruction of his people native, knowing in each of these dimensions other characters that are they join him and travel with him to face strange lands and dangerous in search of the truth.
After the first draft, I started exploring and location of the aesthetic that would define the character. I drew several styles in different techniques, I will put in all parts, was once the corporate image of a company. My interest in creating this character is that everyone can reach it, that everyone can identified and does not have a defined age range, for those who can get to read your comics or are viewing animations and create intrigue towards the viewer. The second thing I was thinking was what I wanted to do with him, went from being an identity, a system of brand and began to have a story, everything I mentioned earlier about the trip between dimensions in the same planet, that was this, that’s why are these two pages of comics. I’ve always liked the visual development of the film animation, I’ve always enjoyed the technique, the finesse, the context and colors used to recreate scenes and engage with characters, that’s why I started thinking about different scenarios, different places, that were related and give life to the idea of a traveler boy scout, that’s why is this miniseries of “concept art” also testing different types of visual treatment, defining a final aesthetic. That is why MarmoR has much to tell yet, but with a clear idea to develop.
