Letter From The Editor When we decided to start this magazine, people said we were crazy. "Magazines are dead," everyone said, and we agree. The old standard of magazine publishing is dead because today's woman is smart, savvy and can read between the lines. They know when the advice given is masked as editorial content but really comes from a key advertiser. They know when a story has been recycled and regurgitated 50 times in 50 different ways. Newsstands are filled with magazines that are designed to line the pockets of the suits and investors, who are mostly men. When online

media companies and blogs began to pop up women flocked to this "new media" with fervor and excitement and let's face it, we all get a good bit of news, fashion tips and other lifestyle material from online resources. However, in the last few years the volume of online media content has become completely overwhelming and we felt it was time to get back to basics in a totally modern, fresh and future seeking way. So, we created Nicole Magazine to give women something to read cover-to-cover with real, engaging fresh content. Think of us as the curators of

the huge wealth of information out there. We promise to give you something you have yet to discover in each issue. We promise never to sell out to advertisers. We promise to always care about what's new fresh, affordable, but also what's worth the "splurge." Most of all, we promise to create a magazine you actually want to read cover to cover...and the best part is we distribute the magazine in Blo dry bars, salons, spas and boutiques where you actually have the time to read it cover to cover! Our Summer issue is packed with all things sunshine and swim.

When did you have your first kiss? How was it? Who was it? It was on camera actually, I do not even remember how old I was. I do remember that the boy totally freaked out, so apparently I was not very good.

2

What was your first acting job? I did a bunch of commercials, but my first job where I had like, lines, was a show called ‘Without A Trace.’ It was my sister’s first job too. We played sisters...the irony right?

3

What was your first big purchase with your first big acting paycheck? My Prius. I had been working for 9 years and had not spent a dime until I bought my car.

4

What is the first thing you would do if you found out that you were actually Switched At Birth? I do not know that I would do anything. I guess I would like to meet the family but, blood related or not, my parents are my parents.

5

What is the first bit of advice you would give to a young girl wanting to make it as an actress? Make sure you really want to do it because it is so not worth it if even 1% feels like you would enjoy doing anything else.

6

Who was your first celebrity crush? My first celebrity crush is probably Shang from the cartoon Mulan. My current one is probably Matt Bomer. Those. Blue. Eyes. Amazing.

7

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Hit the snooze button.

8

You’re shopping for a new bathing suit, what is the first type of suit your gravitate toward? Anything with a skirted bottom. Whether it is a one piece or bikini, a skirted bottom will always win.

9

What is the first thing you read every day? My emails. Incidentally, they are also the last thing I read every day.

10

Any other first you would like to share with your fans? The first thing I do after every show I test for is go to P.F. Changs with my friend Meaghan. It is a bizarre tradition we have. So I was literally in a P.F. Changs with her, when I got the call that I got Switched at Birth.
