Winter 2008 COMPOSITE STRUCTURAL FOAM and BALSALITE PANELS February 2008. Nida-Core Corp. has greatly expanded the composite panels offerings by adding NidaFoam PET 100 structural composite panels to its lineup. NidaFoam PET offers M1 burn certification and excellent fire resistance characteristics. Panels are available from 1/4” to 8” thicknesses in sizes up to 10’X50’. Panels are manufactured with wet lamination technology under controlled vacuum bag conditions with gel coat and multiple reinforcement configuration options. NidaCore Balsalite panels with CSM 090 white pigmented composite panels are an economical alternative to our competitors offerings, available from stock in 48X96 sizes from 1/4” to 4” thicknesses. NidaFusion STO fiberglass panels are now available from Nida-Core Corp. with 17 oz WR skins or 34 oz WR skins up to 10X50 foot size in thicknesses from 3/8” to 2”. Gel-coat in 40 different colors remains an option, on one or both sides. CNC kit cutting is available for complete bulkhead /floor /pilothouse construction and can be combined with other NidaCore CNC cut core materials. NidaFusion STO panels are suitable to construct floors, sidewalls, trailers, refrigerated storage units, bulkheads and modular building units. The foam provides an excellent R-value for the panels, up to R-5 per inch of thickness. The composite triangulated pins provide mechanically connected skins that are virtually impossible to delaminate. The distance between pins and angle of the pins can be modulated to adapt to end users mechanical property requirements.

Jerome Raynal joined Nida-Core in January 2008 as Product Development Manager. Jerome obtained his Material Engineering degree in Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Limoges, in Limoges France in 2003. He has been involved with composites since 2002 thanks to a 6 months internship performed at Snecma Propulsion Solide (Bordeaux, France), concentrating on optimization of the polymerization parameters for RTM injected carbon/ phenolic composites. He started his career in 2003 in the Pole de Plasturgie de l'Est, a composites technology transfer center based in the North-East of France as Project Manager. During the last 2 years there, he was Engineering and Development Manager at PPE which specialized in long fibers reinforced composites with thermosetting and thermoplastic matrix. He was in charge of several projects in aerospace, aeronautics, transportation and boat industry in Europe and overseas. Now, Jerome lives in Palm Bay, Florida with his wife.
