The movie "Ready player one" enriches our imagination of the future virtual world. However, it rarely vividly depicts the real world. Slums? Trailer house? Evil company? I don't think so. So my design in Vstudio focuses on depicting the real world under the impact of virtual reality, combined with the spirit of the place, and the fable of Noah's Ark in Genesis, and finally depicts Taipei and Yilan in 2045. In 2045, most people spend 90% of their time in the virtual reality world called "ARK." In addition to the physiological needs of eating and drinking, it almost meets the endless desires of human beings. Therefore, people have overthrown the Maslow's demand theory that was previously respected, and then put forward the "new demand theory". Self-realization has become a necessity in the virtual world. Taipei (Free Area) : People rely on drones and ARK to spend their lives in their house. So the entire city road was converted into a strip of forest, and those places that had been occupied by people were returned to the earth. Insect, flocks and stray animals also divide their fields and survive in the reality of being abandoned by humans. Yilan(Control Area) : People must reach "HARBOR" to board the "ARK". The entire Lanyang Plain is occupied by several giant mechanical towers. They pretend to be part of the field and the sky, and people in Yilan accepted their existence."HARBOR" has also indirectly and directly affected the life and appearance of the entire city.

+Film (Youtube)

The protagonist runs back and forth between the virtual world and the real world. Looking for answers between humans and the universe. It is like a dove in the Noah's Ark. He tried to find olive leaves and new attitudes in cities that were swallowed by the flood.

Standing on the Huan He road in the past, I picked the most lush tree and went to it. I light up a cigarette. I suddenly remember when people were still walking on the ground. The sound of the car whizzing, the sound of the horn, the sound of the locomotive throttle sound, However, now there are only drones that are low-pitched across the sky. When our desires can expand infinitely in the virtual world, and hide in the box built of cement all day long. Insects ,birds and stray animals continue to live in reality. Since the general consumption pattern was replaced, Ximending was converted into the largest drone base in Taipei. The only place reserved was a small section of the hiking area from the former No. 6 MRT station, now called the No. 6 Park.I still remember that when the VR was popularized in 2020, the Ximen Walking Area was full of shops experiencing virtual reality. The sky is almost covered by giant signboards and new projection ads.But no one expected that it would decline rapidly in three years. The store closed down and thousands of signboards were sent to the landfill.

The endless fields and the snow-capped mountains in the distance greeted me. The breeze that lifted up the slaps of the height and the chest of the mans on my body, but there was no tingling in memory, but the picture of the virtual projection on the body. The field is fake, the snow mountain is true; the breeze is true, and the grass is fake. This environment takes us out of reality and comes to a place in between. It seems that everyone is a character who plays in the green screen. Suddenly, the glittering glare of light makes it difficult for me to open my eyes, and the noise makes me unable to hear my thoughts.Neon,LED are packed with sight. He pulled me into the path next to the arcade, The environment turned from a colorful night market scene to a dark red atmosphere. The street with a width of one meter was close to the transparent window, and it seemed to be selling some products.

What is the 21st century residence? In the future, we will no longer buy physical products such as light bulbs, refrigerators, houses, etc., but services such as lighting, refrigeration, and residence. In this circular economy, the 21st century residence is like an object shared in the city. Like a telephone booth, we use its services and functions, but we don't own it. I think living is like the process of using a phone booth, just a longer timeline, and the complexity of the function. In the process of using the telephone booth, it is like talking to the other person in the virtual world, but we can easily ignore the real world separated by a glass, limited to the frame of 1x1 meters. So this short-lived process of leaving the world is what I want to experience in architecture. And to awaken the occupants' sense of daily ignorance and long-term disregard for the place. The first occupants appeared. They are Phubber-indifferent, focusing on the individual and living in their own world. They are eager to get attention in the virtual world, but they are afraid to establish intimate relationships in the real world. At the same time, there are many art workers working in Dihua Street. I want to let them join the Innovation Rebate Program through the proposal, and lead the various communities to become more aware of the community and each other, or to help Phubber return to reality and become a realistic refactorer. ”That was when I realized, as terrifying and painful as reality can be, it's also the only place where you can find true happiness. Because reality is real.“ - Ready player one People in the virtual world are lonely individuals, but at the same time they are eager to share the daily life with others. I hope this house for virtual residents in an offline world is not only a good place to eat, but also a place to live well.

Although living in a fast-paced environment, people are still eager to share their daily lives with others. In the midst of the urban residents, there are some group of people who are more vulnerable that need others’ assistance and attention. However, they only have little chance to meet each other; furthermore, cities often lack public spaces that are accessible. Creating a place that can deal with these problems will be the ultimate purpose of my project. Why do residents living in the community show indifference? The reason might not be they are really unconcerned about others. Maybe they just lack occasions to get in touch with new people. We are all lonely individuals, yet we still have the desire to share our lives or experiences with others. Through the deconstructed telephone booths, we hope people can create collective memories and interacting with each other can be a part of their daily lives. Finally, a telephone booth will no longer be regard merely as a tool, it might transform into a place where stories that people convene and have connection with each other happen.

We chose pufferfish as a biometic study to observe the muscle movement due to its coughing or defense. Analyze the different functions and time of the four muscles on the inflation behavior, and try to do the experiments with units. Initially, the elastic steel combination is used to extrude the deformable unit, and the fabric and the elastic cord are used to control the amount of deformation.Through the load of the water, and record different scales, thicknesses, and materials that affect the unit. And the stabilizing structure of the unit. Then try to organize multiple units relationship to respond the inflation system of pufferfish. Thinking about the program , trigger the units by collecting the rainwater and link the whole system. On a sunny day, there is a whole surface that allows sunlight to penetrate. In rainy days, some units can be loaded with rainwater. When the rainfall is larger, a shadow path appeared. The layout-adjusted unit will also cause some areas to be deformed differently. This system allows people to perceive environment changing. The current design in Beimen is an unobstructed and unstoppable open space, and there is no reason to visit again. So I began to think that the system not only provides environmental needs, but also commemorates the history, culture, and memory. This system not only considers environmental factors, but also lays out according to Gestalt psychology. It allows the system to be distinguished and divided after being deformed. Finally, system will form a continuous path or space and project a special pattern on the ground or wall to commemorate the history.

For tourists and vendors, the system forms a surface that allows sunlight to penetrate on a sunny day. At the same time, the ground and walls will form interesting patterns through the shadows. The system deforms on rainy days and forms a covered path or space.
