never deploy our safe word to escape the scene. Each year brings new expectations for the holidays. Like a snowflake, our story will be carefully woven together with the truly unique tales of 2020. Let’s talk about some ways that we can be intentional as we continue to weave together sweet memories. PERFECT PICTURE OR CANDID SNAPSHOT A candid snapshot may not be a picture out of a magazine, but it will be a beautifully unique woven memory to hold on to; a new tradition of a year that sent us all into new patterns, day to day behaviors and new holiday traditions. When our plans aren’t lining up perfectly, try to ask yourself “Which photo would I rather hang on my wall?” TURN TO EACH OTHER AND DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. In uncharted territory such as the challenges that 2020 has set before us, do you tend to get caught up trying to create a perfectly posed

memory rather than enjoying the moment? If so, how can we stay in the moment? Reflect on all the adapting you had to do as a couple this past year.
Can you recall a recent experience that didn’t unfold as planned, but brought laughter and lasting memories? Did you snap a pic? What made the moment special? How did this moment deepen your connection? HIT PAUSE Don’t let your holiday spirit roll downhill simply because you aren’t taking a moment to hit pause. If your attitude isn’t reflecting a spirit of joy and thanksgiving, take a moment (or several) for yourself and remind each other of your many blessings. Take a moment to discuss how you will help each other navigate through this unique holiday season. A SNOWBALL OF GRATITUDE Sometimes all it takes to lift your spirit and the spirits of those around you is to spread a little gratitude. Go out of your way to say thanks. It may not always be easy to do, but it’s always worth it. Take some time to make a list of who you are grateful for and openly discuss who comes to mind and how you might show them gratitude in special ways. Now discuss how you can work together to show gratitude to the important people in your life.
Who Am I? ITEMS NEEDED 2 blank stickers | Writing utensil Let’s start your date night off with a little game… In your box you will find two stickers. Claim yours and, without your partner sneaking a peek, write the name of a seasonal character. Place the sticker on your partner’s back. Have your partner do the same thing to you. As you both make your way through your date, your goal is to figure out who each of you are. You are not allowed to ask any questions about who you are. Partners give each other subtle clues as the night goes on. (Example: you could ask “Frosty” if he is cold. Tell him he shouldn’t get too close to the fire and he is only around in the winter.) Make it a little more fun by choosing what the reward will be for the person who guesses who they are first.

Over the Hill and Thru The Woods Dice Game ITEMS NEEDED 3 Dice | Laminated Over the Hill Card Dry Erase Marker Here is how it works: You will each take turns rolling all three dice. You will add or subtract the amounts shown on the rolled dice and then cross off those sums or differences on your “hill” number line. You must go in numerical order starting at one and will cross off as many possible in that roll. When you cannot create any more numbers for the rolled dice, it will be your partner’s turn. Partner 2 will pick up where partner 1 left off. The first to reach 18 wins. Example: Player A rolls a 3,4,6. This player can cross off 1 (because 4-3=1), 2 (because 6-4=2), and 3 (because 6-3 = 3) from your Over the Hill card. This player cannot make a sum or difference of 4, so now it’s Player B’s turn to roll. Each player’s turn starts at the end point of the previous turn. The first to reach 18 wins!
Love Notes and Holiday Oreos ITEMS NEEDED Oreos | White Chocolate Chips | Peppermints Pieces of paper
Grab your included white chocolate chips and crush your peppermints. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe container in 30 second increments until drizzle consistency. Drizzle over your oreos and then garnish with your peppermints. Enjoy this delicious treat while you begin your next activity. Note from Megan, the Founder of Date Night In Dear Date Night In Seekers, Many years ago, I got a Christmas present from my husband Brian that touched my heart. It was completely unexpected and completely wonderful. It was a gift that couldn’t be purchased from a store. It was a simple letter, with sentiments from his heart.
In the
time since he sent it, we have continued this tradition every year. Each year, I’ll reread it and now have a collection of our yearly tradition. So, for your date, in honor of my husband’s sweet message, we have included two cards in this box for you to write a note to your significant other as a holiday gift. This gift is something you can’t get in a store, yet my hope is it will be the most treasured of all! Megan Locate your included paper and take a few moments to write on your paper and find a moment during this holiday season to present your significant other with this special message!

G o t o d a t e n ig h t in b ox .com / ti s- th e- season for h ow -to massage tutorials. SWEDISH MASSAGE THERAPY This is the most common type of massage therapy in the United States. Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. SHIATSU Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork that uses localized finger pressure in a rhythmic sequence. Each pressure point is held for two to eight seconds to improve the flow and energy as well as help the body regain balance. THAI MASSAGE Like shiatsu, a Thai massage aligns the energies of the body using gentle pressure on specific points. Thai massages also include compressions and stretches. Generally, the therapist moves and stretches you into a sequence of postures. It’s like yoga without doing any work! DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE A deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massages are used to remedy tight or painful muscles.
