For the routes and routines assignment, I tried to collect as much data as possible of what influences me and my beeing. I started by noting down where I am, what I do or eat and how I feel as often as possible throughout one week. I made a list of all my activities throughout the day, and gave them numbers. I measured my heartbeat at everyday activities to find out my approximate pulse . With this collected information, I created a diagramm showing my heartrate over the whole week. Every activity has its number and place in the timeline. So it is possible to backtrace my GPS-point, my mood and my actual activity of every specific moment in the week. The diagramm also makes my sleep rythum obvious. My heartbeat diagramm reaches its top points when I am on the bike or when I proceed sporty activities. It reaches its lowest points when I am resting or sleeping.

PLANT FIRE DEPARTMENT educational training for catastrophe prevention and reaction CROSSECTION OF PROFESSIONS

MEDICS / AMBULANCE first aid, safety, reanimation

FIREFIGHTERS evacuation, emergency, hazard

I followed around Pieter from the KLS, bedrijfshulpverlening. Hes making educations for first aid, catastrophe prevention and reaction, and checks the fire safety in public buildings, like at gas stations, schools and other public buildings. It was following around for a safety check at a gas-station. I was really interesting to see what his assignments are and to get concious about the high amount of people beeing responsable and educated for fire, health and catastrophe care. Pieter also works closely together with firefighters and architects, to know about the emergency exits and plans.

this concept for wayfinding should motivate people to orient not ordinary by streets, but by areas in their close sourrounding. It consists out of three layers of signs like shown below. Individuality is provided by the interactive main sign, which give the user the opportunity to play with the main sign and „find his own route“.

FLUORESCENCE: The colors of light that the human eye is able to see range roughly from red to blue in color. Blue light has a higher frequency than red light. The light which has frequency just lower than red light is called „infrared“, and the light which has frequency just higher than blue light is called „ultra-violet“. Both infra-red and ultra violet-light are beyond our eyes‘ range for efficiently detecting, however they are still very important. Infra-red light is often used to warm things (like heat lamps over food in restaurants), and ultra-violet light is the subject of your question. A „black light“ is just a light bulb designed to emit ultra-violet light. The reason these are called „black“ is that if you look at the actual bulb it does not seem very bright (sort of a dim violet color), and if you put a black light in a dark room it really does not brighten it very much... the room remains almost black. These bulbs do emit lots of light however, it‘s just that we can‘t see it. Some materials have the special property that they absorb ultra-violet light and then re-emit the light at lower frequencies that our eyes can see. This is called „fluorescence“
